QWIK TIP: Are you missing texts from someone?

If you recently updated to iOS 26, it quietly installed an AUTOMATIC TEXT FILTER that may have pushed one or more important texts from medical, legal or other notifications without letting you know.

The intention is to protect you from 'unwanted' or unknown messages that may be harmful.

BUT many professionals use texts to notify or remind you of upcoming appointments, due dates etc. They often come from phone/text numbers you have not interacted with before, and those may have been sent to the "SPAM" folder.

To check and read the 'unknown' messages, do this:
1.) Open Messages
2.) Tap on the 3 lines on upper right
3.) Tap "Manage Filtering" at bottom of list
4.) Check "Unknown Senders" and
a.) Turn OFF: Screen Unknown Senders
b.) Keep ON: Filter Spam
5.) Optional: Scroll down to Blocked Contacts: make sure important people, businesses didn't accidentally get blocked. (To re-add: Tap ">", scroll down to bottom, tap "Unblock Contact"
