Rainbow Rabbit

Rainbow Rabbit Rainbow Rabbit is a Pre-K-Grade 3 Educational Program celebrating unique differences. When Rainbow Rabbit started his adventure, he was very sad and lonely.

He looked different from everybody else and was not accepted by those around him. But thanks to the kindness of the queen, he realized that his unique qualities made him special. This made Rainbow Rabbit optimistic that his future would be as bright and colorful as he was. His story sends a strong message that everyone should be treated equally. Our mission is to address the serious issues affecting today’s children and to bring about positive change.

There is a five-minute talk worth having before the backpack goes on.

Not about grades. About noticing other people.

Ask your child to picture someone who might feel nervous on day one. Give them one small action, like sitting near a kid who is alone. Talk about a time they felt different. End with: what is one thing you could do to make someone else’s day a little easier?

That conversation builds empathy before the first bell.

Bedtime can feel like a second job. After pajamas and one more water request, a screen is tempting.

A short screen-free wind-down does the opposite work. Dim the lights. Take a few balloon breaths. Ask one high and one low from the day. Read for a few minutes. Same lights-out phrase every night.

Kids settle when the last twenty minutes feel predictable. Calm is a skill you can practice together.

Parents hear “thank you” all day and still wonder if kids mean it.

Gratitude sticks when it is a small habit, not a lecture. Try the three-thankful-things game at dinner. Spot helpers out loud. Keep a jar on the counter for one note a day. Pair please and thank you with a short why. Use storytime to ask who was kind.

Pick one this week. Consistency beats a perfect speech.

The Princess never needed a big speech to be kind. She just walked next to Rainbow Rabbit like he already belonged.

Kids notice that. The friend who sits with them. The grown-up who says their name. One small welcome can change the whole day.

If you want a quiet activity after the talk, the coloring book is a good next step.

We’re starting something close to our hearts: the Rainbow Rabbit Kindness Award of the Month.

Each month we’ll shine a light on a real moment when a child chose kindness. Not a big speech. Just care in action.

This month’s spark comes from a first-day story out of Wichita. One elementary student noticed a classmate who was overwhelmed and crying. He sat with him, held his hand, walked him to the front door, and stayed with him into the school. They became close. Simple. Brave. Exactly the kind of noticing we hope every classroom grows.

We won’t share kids’ names or private photos here. The full report is from KAKE News if you want to read it.

Know a kindness story worth celebrating? Submissions are always welcome. Comment below or email [email protected]. First names only if a parent says yes, or keep it anonymous. We’ll treat every story with care.

Kindness is a habit. We’re glad to cheer it on.

There is a question worth asking your child before school starts this year.

"What would you do if you saw someone sitting alone at lunch?"

Not "what should you do." What WOULD you do.

Kids know the right answer. What builds empathy is actually imagining themselves in the moment, feeling the awkward pause, deciding to walk over anyway.

That small hesitation, and the choice to cross it, is exactly what Rainbow Rabbit practices in every story. He sees someone alone. He feels the pull to stay comfortable. And then he goes anyway.

Reading those moments out loud gives your child a rehearsal. Not a lecture, just a story.

There’s a special kind of quiet that happens when a child is coloring while you read aloud.

No screens buzzing. Just crayons, a story, and time together.

The Rainbow Rabbit Storytelling Coloring Book was made for afternoons like that. Your little one colors Lettuce Valley as the story unfolds. Castle, characters, and all. It’s screen-free, hands-busy, and heart-full.

If you’re building a back-to-school calm-down corner or just need a peaceful nook this week, this is a gentle place to start.
