Happy Charter Day to the Thomasville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.! 🔺

Today we celebrate another year of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. We honor the vision and dedication of the trailblazing women who chartered this chapter and laid a foundation of excellence that continues to impact the Thomas, Grady & Colquitt counties.

May we continue to uphold the legacy of our Founders by serving with purpose, leading with integrity, and making a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Here’s to celebrating our rich history, our enduring legacy, and the bright future ahead.

This well deserved honor reflects your unwavering commitment to service, visionary leadership, and dedication to creating opportunities for others. We are proud to see your alma mater recognize the impact of a leader whose journey at Ole Miss helped shape the trailblazer you are today. Congratulations, Madam President! Your leadership continues to inspire us all!

Two hundred fifty years later, America remains a nation of extraordinary promise and unfinished work.

As members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, we proudly carry forward the work of expanding opportunity, advancing justice, and strengthening our democracy for generations to come.

We celebrate freedom while acknowledging that it has not always been experienced equally. We honor those whose courage, sacrifice, and perseverance challenged our nation to become more just, and all who continue that work today.

Today we honor the legacy of the last enslaved African Americans in Texas who were finally informed of their freedom, some two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. It was those people, and the generations of Texans who came after them, who made the bold declaration to celebrate this day, marking a reality we know far too well in this country: freedom may be delayed, but it will never be denied.

Though our fight for freedom sadly continues, today we pause to celebrate and embrace the joy of our ancestors who believed in the possibilities of a more promising tomorrow. And in that joy, we remain anchored, steadfast in our pursuit of true freedom and justice for all.

We are incredibly thankful for the support of our local scholarship sponsors who continue to invest in the future of our students. Their generosity helps open doors and create opportunities for the next generation.

Today, we are proud to recognize Keerston Sanders as the recipient of the Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated pauses today to honor all those who gave their lives in service to this nation. We are anchored in their legacy, shaped by their sacrifice, humbled by their courage, and committed to living out the values they protected.

The Founders of Delta Sigma Theta envisioned an organization committed to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and addressing the social issues of the time. The Thomasville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. carries the torch ignited by the Founders by encouraging young adults to achieve excellence through higher education by annually awarding scholarships to deserving high school graduates in the Colquitt, Grady, and Thomas County areas.

With that being said, we want to showcase the 2026 high school seniors that have been awarded the TAC DST scholarship based off of the Sorority's principles.
