Fannie Barrier Williams was definitely an Alice! Aside from being the first black female member of the Chicago Women’s Club, she helped to found the NAACP. Her work as an activist is not to be forgotten. In fact, she was the only black woman chosen to eulogize Susan B. Anthony at her funeral. We are so grateful that she made space for herself and her sisters where there was none before!

Let’s meet one our newest founding members of Alice House. Hannah has been a believer of Alice House’s mission since she learned of them, and is so glad she has had the opportunity to get on board.
Hannah has a background in social work and mental health, and is currently working full time as a mental health therapist in our community. Hannah feels that she can bring her passion for helping others into her work at Alice House, as she is all about helping you find and navigate the path that best suits you and your needs. She has an interest in a wide variety of topics, so be on the lookout for potential events such as a DIY craft night that include one of her many hobbies.
