The Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers invites eligible teachers to apply for the inaugural Antigua and Barbuda Tertiary Education Grant.

This grant is designed to support teachers who are pursuing tertiary education and investing in their professional growth. As A&BUT continues to celebrate 100 years of service, advocacy, and teacher empowerment, we are proud to create opportunities that help educators advance their studies and strengthen the teaching profession.

Eligible teachers are encouraged to review the requirements carefully and submit their applications before the deadline.

The Chevening scholarship application portal opened TODAY. You have the next eight weeks to get your documents together to apply for funding for a one-year Master's degree programme to a school in the Chevening network!

Have the following:
- Be a citizen of a qualifying Caribbean country
- An accredited bachelor's degree
- A willingness to return to your country to contribute to national development for boneless than two years
- Certified copies of certificates
- Academia transcripts, and
- A personal statement about yourself and why you want to join the Chevening Scholar network
- At least TWO (2) years' work experience

🇦🇬 2025 CHEVENING SCHOLAR: DAVID FRANCIS
He is a House Officer at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, working in the Subspecialties Department of Internal Medicine, with a focus on Nephrology, Neurology, and Oncology. He also chairs the Infectious Disease Committee of the dialysis unit, gaining valuable experience in infection prevention and control among vulnerable patients.

He holds a medical degree from the Latin American School of Medicine and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from the University of South Wales. To deepen his understanding of population health, he completed a certificate in Introduction to Epidemiology from Washington University.

David will pursue an MSc in Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology at University College London. Through this training, he aims to strengthen public health systems by enhancing outbreak detection and control, shaping evidence-based policies, and preparing for future antimicrobial threats.
