Celebrating Women's History Month # 🩷🤎🩷🤎

02/19/2026

Mocha Moms, Inc. celebrates the life and legacy of Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr., who died early this morning after an extended illness. He was 84 years old.

In those 84 years, Jackson became a giant in our history of Civil Rights activism. He was one of the young people at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s side when he was assassinated, and he picked up the torch in the fight for the advancement of poor and working people. Before a fresh, young United States Senator Barack Obama spoke so eloquently about a red, white and blue America, Jesse Jackson gave us the Rainbow Coalition of America. Before Obama’s historic Presidential campaign of hope, Jesse Jackson ran for President twice. He constantly reminded us to “Keep Hope Alive.”

“Rev. Jackson opened the door and created a path for countless Black leaders to step into their greatness. He not only gave us hope, he taught us to keep fighting, to never let up, until victory is won. His legacy and spirit will always be a part of us,” said Mocha Moms, Inc. National President Kuae Noel Kelch.
With the news of Jackson’s death, we commit to keeping his legacy and hope alive. We honor him and all he stood for as we, Mocha Moms, Inc., continue to work to close the education, economic and health gaps for our families.

Rest in peace, power and radial, revolutionary hope, Reverend Jackson!
