New York City Public Schools will be OPEN for in-person instruction on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

All programs and activities will take place as scheduled.

The safety of our students, staff, and families as they travel to and from school is of the utmost importance.

We encourage you to please use caution while traveling and allow for additional travel time.

School dismissal will proceed as scheduled.

However, parents and guardians should prepare for potential delays in busing and public transportation as they safely navigate home.

Please reach out to your school for updates on after-school programming.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the principal or parent coordinator at your child’s school. Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe.

Servicios lingüísticos gratuitos Parents have the right to receive information or communicate with a staff member at their school or Department of Education office in their language.

Applications are now open for the 2026 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)!

SYEP provides summer employment information, assistance, and referrals for City residents who are ages 14 through 24.

Applicants are chosen either by lottery or through specialized programming. Applicants who are not accepted have access to alternative job, career or work-readiness resources.

NYC teens aged 14-15 learn about career opportunities and make a difference in their communities through paid project-based activities.

Young people aged 16-24 improve their work readiness skills and explore career pathways through paid summer jobs in a variety of industries throughout NYC.
