No one plans for disaster—especially not twice.

Just one year and 12 days after the July 4th flood that changed Kerr County forever, the Hill Country has flooded again. Many residents are shaken, and for survivors still recovering, this new disaster has reopened wounds that were never fully healed.

Because Kerr Together Long-Term Recovery Group and their incredible network of local partners were already in place, they were able to begin helping immediately—connecting neighbors with resources, coordinating support, and walking alongside families through another difficult chapter.

Last week, Stormwise had the privilege of spending time with these leaders, supporting their work by bringing greater clarity to the processes that help survivors access the assistance they need.

Recovery is never the work of one organization. It's a community choosing to carry one another through the hardest days.

We're grateful to stand beside Kerr Together LTRG and their partners as they continue bringing hope to Kerr County—one family at a time. ❤️

As Hunt marks one year since the flood that changed their community forever, we're reminded that recovery is about so much more than rebuilding homes—it's about rebuilding hope.
Over the past year, we've had the privilege of partnering with the Hunt Preservation Society. In the face of unimaginable loss, we've watched neighbors become leaders, volunteers become friends, and a community come together to help families move forward.
This Fourth of July carried both remembrance and hope. As the community honored those they lost, they also gathered to celebrate the resilience that has carried them through the past year and the promise of brighter days ahead.
We were honored to stand alongside our partners at the Hunt Preservation Society as they hosted a sunrise memorial service and a community picnic—two meaningful moments that reflected both the weight of the journey and the strength of the people walking it together.
What they've built is more than a recovery effort—it's a stronger, more connected community.
Here's to all that has been accomplished, all that's still ahead, and the enduring truth that relational communities are resilient communities. ❤️

Celebrating big wins in Hunt, Texas 🤍

This weekend, Stormwise had the opportunity to celebrate alongside our friends at Hunt Preservation Society during the ribbon cutting for the new Hunt Community Center—a meaningful milestone for a community that has walked through an incredibly difficult season together.

Since the devastating July 4th floods, HPS has stepped up in extraordinary ways—advocating for flood survivors, connecting needs to resources, and helping families navigate the long road of recovery.

And the impact is remarkable.

A dedicated team of compassionate and motivated individuals is currently managing 341 survivor cases. Already:

* 84 cases have been fully closed
* 22 homes have reached construction completion
* 20 additional homes are currently under construction

That’s the equivalent of completing a home every 14 days!

This kind of work doesn’t happen by accident. It takes persistence, trust, humility, long hours, and people willing to carry responsibility for their neighbors.

John, Chae, Lisa, and Bridget—it has been a true honor to support you through this brutally hard season. Your leadership and care for your community have been deeply inspiring, and we have every confidence that you will finish strong.
