Our faith should influence every part of our lives, including how we handle our finances. God calls us to see what we have as a resource to be used for His purposes and to care for those who are in need. When we invite God into our finances, our generosity can become a way to show His love to others.

Jesus met a Samaritan woman at the well, someone society had taught Him to avoid. But Jesus didn’t build a wall, He started a conversation. The story of the woman at the well reminds us that Jesus sees people before He sees labels. Race, background, status, and history don’t determine a person’s worth.

Why did John the Baptist call Jesus “the Lamb of God”? Because Jesus didn’t come just to teach us, He came to take away our sin. The lamb points us to sacrifice, redemption, and ultimately to the power of Jesus’ blood. His blood speaks of forgiveness. His blood brings freedom. His blood reminds us that our salvation was purchased at a price.

When your Gideon illustration goes completely off the rails. Gideon had 32,000 men… God said, “That’s too many.” Then things got interesting. And somehow, this illustration got a little TOO interesting. Sometimes the sermon illustration teaches the preacher a lesson too!
