Patricia "Patsy" (Backhoff)(Fardin) Chinchillo
Loving mother, and grandmother, and a great friend

Patricia "Patsy" (Backhoff) (Fardin) Chinchillo, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 1, 2024, at her home in Rye, NH. Patsy was a beloved figure in Tewksbury's real estate community and the cherished widow of Gary Chinchillo, who passed away in 2019 after over thirty years of marriage.

Born on December 23, 1946, in Cambridge, MA, Patsy was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mildred (Sullivan) Backhoff. Her family moved to Tewksbury during her childhood, where she was raised and educated. Patsy graduated proudly from Tewksbury Memorial High School with the Class of 1964.

Patsy's career as a Realtor spanned over 40 years. To many in Tewksbury, she was more than just a Realtor; she was a community pillar, dedicated to helping countless families find their perfect homes. She never missed a chance to share a laugh if you bumped into her in the aisle at Market Basket, or over a Mai Tai at the Jade East. Patsy was always eager to sponsor youth sports, local charitable endeavors or social events for folks at Emerald Court, embodying the spirit of her beloved town

A voracious reader and a lover of the water, Patsy found great solace on the shores of Round Pond, with Rye Beach holding a special place in her heart. She delighted in being surrounded by family and friends, and she truly adored her grandchildren. Patsy was a consummate hostess and an exceptional cook, known for bringing people together with her warmth and hospitality. Patsy's legacy of kindness, community spirit, and love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

Patsy is survived by her three children: Karen and Michael Noonan of Westborough, MA; James and Carol Fardin of Maplewood, NJ; and Robert Fardin and his wife, Stephanie Creegan, of Lowell, MA. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Christopher Robert Chinchillo of Boston, and Melissa Leigh Chinchillo and her husband, Paul Bodig, of Croton-on-Hudson, NY. She leaves behind ten cherished grandchildren: Sam, Julia, Harry, Isabelle, Jamie, Conor, Maggie, Catie, Tommy, and Teddy. She also leaves her former husband and good friend, Robert "Bob" W. Fardin, of Marlborough, MA. Patsy is survived by her siblings: Edward Backhoff of San Diego, CA; Marie Ellison and her husband, Richard, of Hingham, MA; and Mildred "Mickie" McShane and her husband, John, of Harvard, MA.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Janet Backhoff and Joseph Backhoff, as well as her stepson, Matthew Mark Chinchillo.

We've lost another classmate...
Philip Carl Freitag (Skip)
October 11, 1945 - December 13, 2023

Obituary
Crossville, TN resident and Tewksbury, Massachusetts native Philip Carl Freitag III, 78, was born October 11, 1945 and passed through the gates of Heaven on December 13, 2023 at home in Crossville, after losing his battle with cancer.
A long-time business owner of Freitag Construction, Philip, known to all as Skip, was a lover of all water sports and boats. It was evident that Skip loved his family and especially his grandkids. Described as adventurous, carefree, and always the life of the party, Skip was generous to a fault and was always willing to help those in need. The son of the late Philip Jr. and Helen Macomber Freitag, Skip married Adrianna Kline of Crossville, on November 7, 2021. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother ,Robert Freitag; and granddaughter, Hannah Freitag.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Jeff (Shanna) Freitag of Crossville, Matt Freitag of Hokes Bluff, AL, Stephanie (Carrie Heath) Freitag of Crossville, Amanda Freitag Haney (Josh Haney) of Crossville, and Jonathan (partner Jessica McClellan) Freitag; grandchildren, Quinn (Tiffany) Freitag, Keaton and Reagan Freitag; Olivia and Grayson Freitag; Addison, Freya, and Rowan Chandler; Hunter, Jase, and Porter Haney, and Ethan Freitag; seven step-children; and five step-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Pat) Freitag; sister, Debbie (Mike) Williams; and sister-in-law, Irene Freitag. Skip also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cumberland Good Samaritans.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

As our 60th Reunion approaches, we would like to ask your opinion on the event.

First and foremost, would you be able to attend if it is held in September after Labor Day?

We are thinking of holding a bar-b-que/picnic instead of a more formal affair. It would be held during the day since many of us do not like night driving. We originally thought to hold it at the Wamesit Lanes but it is pricey and wonder if anyone has any other ideas for the venue.

Another classmate has passed. Such sad news.

Jean E. Watson passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 after a long period of declining health. Born in Wi******er, MA, daughter of the late George H. and Mildred D. (West) Watson, Jean grew up in the Town of Tewksbury and was a member of the Tewksbury United Methodist Church.

Jean attended Tewksbury schools, and graduated with the class of 1964 with honors. She then furthered her education and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, in addition, she earned her Certificate in General Accounting from LaSalle University, and a Certificate in Supervisory Management from the American Management Association. Upon graduating from college Jean moved to Boston and worked at the State Street Bank managing the Securities Division, as well as a Research Correspondence Supervisor.

Jean eventually returned to Tewksbury, changing career paths to become a social worker in the City of Lowell in the Welfare office, until she was forced to retire due to illness. In her free time, she was an avid reader, and she enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Jean is survived by her sister Susan (Watson) Patterson, nephew Stephen R. Patterson and great nephew Timothy R. Patterson, all of Tewksbury. She is predeceased by her brother in law, Roy E. Patterson. Jean is also survived by a paternal aunt and several cousins.

Unfortunately, we've lost another classmate.

Lee F. Taylor, 74 of Tewksbury MA, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at home. For over 50 years he was the husband of Veronica “Ronnie” (Jandrys) Taylor.

He was born in Cambridge, MA, on June 7, 1946, and was a son of the late Walter Taylor, and the late Muriel (Haley) Taylor. He attended the local schools, and graduated from Tewksbury High school.

After graduating from high school he became a pipefitter's apprentice and then a journeyman. He was a member of the Boston Pipefitter's Local 537 for over fifty years and retired in 2008.

Lee enjoyed racing cars, in his younger days he had a race car, he loved flying, but his true passion was sailing.

In addition to his wife Ronnie, Lee is survived by his sons Eric Taylor and his girlfriend Kelsey Farraher of Lowell, Patrick Taylor and his girlfriend Shelly McCabe of Westford, his Sisters, Judith Fuller of Salem, NH and sister in law, Joanne Jandrys of Wakefield, MA, as well as his nieces, nephews and many friends.
