This page will be used to promote departments, programs and events that focus on the development of American Indian students at Arizona State University.

The office of the American Indian Initiatives, under the office of the President, focuses on student outreach and retention. Primary focuses of our office include recruit, retain and improve graduation rates for American Indian students, serve as a liaison between ASU and Tribal Nations, promote and support programming design to aid American Indian students and advocate for American Indian students.

Welcome Ethan! 🤓🔱

Ethan Tacheene is an alumnus of ASU where he earned a Bachelors in Business Law from the W.P. Carey School of Business.🧑🏽‍💼⚖️ Now he is pursuing his Masters in Legal Studies at ASU. In his undergraduate career he showed leadership in holding positions in the Native American Business Organization (NABO) and was a regular participant in OAII where he volunteered and contributed to supporting Indigenous student success.

Ethan is originally from Many Farms, Arizona 🏜️ (go lobos!) which is located on the Navajo Reservation. He brings an abundance of knowledge and valuable experience from his time at ASU, in which he will be a perfect addition to supporting and serving Indigenous students. 🪶✨

RECHARGE 2026 🔱✨

Another unforgettable year! Huge thank you to, staff support and student volunteers and all, who made this conference possible. We welcomed over 400+ students and chaperones from Tribal Nations across Arizona!

Big shoutout to our opening Keynote speaker Turquoise Devereaux, and Jalen James, our closing student keynote speaker, for sharing powerful words and inspiration. The future is bright! ❤️

Yesterday we were happy to host students from Alchesay High School 🦅🩵 at our Tempe Campus! The students were able to hear about our office and the work we do along with presentations from Admissions🎓, AISSS 🍎, and Labriola 📚 They enjoyed the tour around Labriola space, the ASU Bookstore and a stop at Old Main 🏢🚶🏽‍♀️

We were so happy to host Alchesay and give them the opportunity to see campus! Can’t wait to see you guys again 🤩

Last Friday, we welcomed the students from Whittier Elementary to ASU! 📚🚌🏫

We welcomed them alongside and and had the opportunity to present and tour the beauty of our Tempe campus! The students learned about what it means to be a Sun Devil. Shortly after, we were able to collaborate with before starting a tour of our beautiful campus! 🌴
