People living with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) deserve empathy, respect, and support.

One way to help reduce stigma is by using person-first language. This approach puts the individual before their condition (for instance, saying "person with OUD" instead of "addict" or "ju**ie"). By focusing on person-first language, we highlight the individual and recognize their humanity beyond their challenges.

A heroic Arizona teen recently saved two lives by using NARCAN to reverse opioid overdoses. Last year alone, 26 Arizona children lost their lives to opioid overdoses—tragedies that might have been preventable.
