Diabetes is not a poor man's disease and is affecting more and more Americans each day. While Type 1 Diabetes is not preventable, Type 2 Diabetes (which accounts for 90-95% of cases) absolutely is. These slides take a look at some of the basic diabetes facts, as well as a brief look at insulin therapy. We'll have to save oral diabetic agents for a whole separate post. :)

If your initial thought is "Cool, then I'm less stressed," consider that sometimes stress is a GOOD thing. Sometimes your body needs to get ramped up to face a threat.
