ASU Migratory Student Summer Academy - MSSA

First full day of the 2023 Migratory Student Summer Camp is going great! Students have participated in a leadership workshop, started creating electronics with ASU engineers, learned about mosquitoes up close, and the days not done! Here are just a few photos from today:

This year's program was a success!🥳 Thank you to all the participants, parents, presenters and staff that made this possible.

This week we started the second session for the Summer Up academy. We are very excited to have a new cohort of campers ready to learn during this week!

Here is a recap of what they have been doing during this week :
- On Monday, they started with an Intro to Robotics class through zoom, in which they learned how to connect a circuit and also did some online lab work
- On Tuesday, they had a forensic science professor who taught them how to analyze fingerprints and handwriting. They used their own prints and handwriting to analyze!
- Today, they had the chance to learn about cyber security, cryptography and how to develop and secure mindset. They watched some videos, had a lecture over zoom and the opportunity to practice binary code.

Tomorrow our students will be learning about career paths and what are their options after high school.

Wednesday and Thursday recap!

On Wednesday, the students had the chance to work on cybersecurity by learning basic cryptography and how to develop a secure mindset. They also took their Summer Up shirt picture along with the counselors.

On Thursday, there was a career panel in which students had the opportunity to think about what they want to do in the future and what are the ways to achieve it.
