GET THE UPPER HAND ON BIG FOOD AND BIG SUPPS!
The food and supplement industries prey on our lack of nutrition education and our insecurities.
I think that's unfair, and only serves the pocketbooks of those doing it. So, hereâs what you can do instead.
Next time you see or hear a nutrition claim being made ask yourself the following 3 questions. If the claims are true, really thinking about things wonât hurt, right?
1.) Am I only believing this because it aligns with what I already think, or want to believe?
2.) Is the person making this claim qualified, or are they just trying to sell something?
3.) Am I assuming this is better just because itâs labeled as ânaturalâ, âorganicâ, or some other term Iâve heard a lot?
BONUS QUESTION: What does the person/company trying to convince of me this claim get out of it?
Remember, even if they appear qualified, it doesnât mean theyâre representing the facts⌠ask someone you know and TRUST, who is knowledgeable in the field, to verify what youâre hearing!

What would you be willing to do?
The fitness goals (aesthetic ones in particular) that you see advertised by super lean celebrities, bodybuilders / physique athletes, fitness models, etc. comes with a hidden price that isnât promoted. Can a small number of these kinds of influencers maintain staying so lean all the time without HUGE sacrifice? Maybe. Maybe a fraction of them once the habits have become part of their daily routine.
But letâs take a look at what that level of leanness looks like for most people who seek it:
- You have to make your own food and measure every meal down to the last gram. That food is generally very plain â lean protein, steamed vegetables, plain potatoes or rice, etc.
- You have to carry that food with you so you can eat at a precise time.
- You cannot eat in restaurants.
- You have to do a specific workout on a given day, exactly as specified.
- No sick days, no slacking.
- Youâll probably be training 2 or 3 times per day.
- You have to sleep and recover precisely.
- No parties or staying up late.
- You canât think straight because youâre always hungry and tired.
- Your whole life revolves around making food, dieting, training, and recovery protocols.
(Thank you for a great way to summarize these variables Precision Nutrition). and throwback some years to my own time in prep!
Take a moment with me...
In a world where fitness advice is just a swipe away, itâs easy to forget that not all guidance is created equal. The truth is, no app, influencer, or cookie-cutter workout plan can replace the depth of knowledge, personal connection, and tailored approach that a dedicated professional brings to the table.đ§
When you invest in a certified professional, youâre not just getting a workout; youâre getting a partner who understands your unique needs, challenges, and goalsâsomeone whoâs committed to your long-term success, not just a quick fix. đŞ
Before you trust your health and wellness to an algorithm or the latest online influencer trend, ask yourself: "is my progress worth more than generic advice? How important are my goals really?"
Letâs start a conversation about why professional coaching isnât just the best optionâitâs the foundation for lasting change.
WHATâS THE BEST DETOX DIET??
See below!!
There isnât one. If an influencer or a coach tells you that you should do a detox, cleanse, etc. you should immediately begin to question their credentials and education in the field. Get the help you need. Not the scam you donât.

A client came in this morning after having a difficult time sleeping last night, and didnât know how well her strength training was going to go today. (If youâve worked with me before youâll be familiar with my philosophy of chasing strength, function and performance over a number on the scale). Self-belief wasnât too high.
30 minutes into our session we start the dreaded compound lift. Barbell back squats. This client has never squatted more than 165 lbs, and didnât know if today would change that.
She warmed up, focused her mind, and knocked out multiple sets at 185 lbs with impeccable form đď¸ââď¸đď¸ââď¸đď¸ââď¸
Point being, in the moments where you donât feel sure, you feel scared, or just feel straight-up tired⌠donât give up. Dig deep, lean on support, and get after it. You never know what you can do until you try đ¤ˇđťââď¸
Just because you have âbad habitsâ doesnât mean that youâre lazy, unmotivated, self-destructive, hopeless, or weak.
It means youâre trying to solve a problem in a way that isnât helping you.
Think Iâm wrong? How has the negative self-talk been working for you? đ¤ Has it helped you reach your goals?
Happy National Womenâs Day! Thank you all for the sacrifices you make, and how much you really contribute for all of us! đ
So you walk into a gym...
"I want to get in shape," you say hesitantly, glancing at the intimidating array of fitness machines and the posters of athletes with chiseled bodies.
The trainer, focused on a tablet, barely acknowledges you.
"Are you looking for hypertrophy, HIIT, or endurance training? Be specific, and hurry upâI have a packed schedule."
"Um," you mumble, trying to make sense of the fitness jargon. You just want to feel healthier and have more energy.
"It doesn't matter. Your problem is probably a lack of functional strength," the trainer declares without making eye contact. He hands you a thick packet of workout routines.
"Here's your plan," he says. "There are ten different programs, each with a unique set of exercises and supplement recommendations. Good luck figuring it outâhopefully, you have a degree in exercise physiology."
"We'll start you on a strict calorie-counting regimen with daily double sessions. You shouldnât have let yourself go in the first place. Next!"
The trainer walks off, leaving you alone in the bustling gym filled with unfamiliar equipment.
You look at the plans.
On top, instead of your name, it says "Generic Client #42: Needs Functional Strength."
Forget this, you think.
I'll just go home, order a pizza, and binge-watch another series.
Sound familiar? What if, instead, you were treated like you mattered? Like you were heard?
Credit where credit is due: thank you for the perspective Precision Nutrition!
