Please join us for the 9th Spanish as a Heritage Language Undergraduate Conference here at Arizona State University.
We will have a welcome address by our director Dr. Sara Beaudrie, a keynote by Isabella Canzano Delgado (former SHL student now doing her master's here at ASU), and four separate concurrent sessions on topics such as bilingualism, health, politics, and social/ethical issues. We will also announce the winner of our Spanglish contest!
The conference will start in Durham Hall 240 on the Tempe campus at 4 pm (AZ time) and will last until 6 pm. Stop by to support our SHL students!

ASU celebrates heritage speakers of Spanish As part of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the School of International Letters and Cultures at ASU held a series of events during the first full week of October for its Spanish Heritage Language Awareness Week.

Para lxs que están en el programa este semestre, les queremos invitar a participar en el Noveno congreso de estudiantes subgraduados en el programa de lengua heredada que será el 17 de noviembre de 4 a 6 pm. Vamos a anunciar la ubicación exacta de cada presentación más tarde.
Para participar, vayan a este enlace para enviar un resumen corto de unas 250 palabras sobre un trabajo que quieran presentar en el congreso antes del 22 de octubre: https://tinyurl.com/SHLASU
Pueden presentar en persona o por Zoom, pero nos tienen que avisar al enviar su resumen. Las presentaciones son de unos 5 a 7 minutos.
Recuerden que pueden recibir puntos de crédito extra al participar en nuestro congreso, recibirán un certificado de participación y pueden agregar esta experiencia a su CV/resumé. It is not that common to present at a conference as an undergraduate student, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity!
