Happy International Day of the Midwife to all the midwives who sacrifice so much to do this job. For teaching me so much. Also to my family and friends that have endured so many missed moments because I get a text or a call. But most of all I want to thank all of the women who have let me be a part of their journey. Grateful is an understatement❤️

I walked in her bedroom door to hear her singing You are my Sunshine while on all fours having a contraction. Even though I had to invite myself over (she wasn't sure if it was too early for me to come) she seemed relieved I was there. It was time. She started to moan and grunt and eventually birth her sweet little boy Parker into her very own hands. Such raw beauty and power in her face. She didn't need me but I'm so grateful she allowed me to bare witness.

So this happened this week❤It wasn't a typical lightning fast second baby. First unmedicated birth and first homebirth for this mama, she worked so hard. I'm so proud of you Lee!😊
