There were more than 130 participants at the Hub Fest held on August 22, 2026. Mary and Skip Heavener, Kiwanis Club of Tecumseh members, volunteered to support the AID station at English and Grossman road for over 20 Gravel bicycle riders, some on the 40 mile gravel bicycle tour and some on the 60 mile gravel bicycle tour. The aid station was positioned to cover both the 40 mile and 60 mile route. Mary and Skip helped out at Cal Zorn Park beginning at 7:30 am, where all the tour bike rides began for the Hubfest 2026. Then Mary and Skip went to the aid station to provide water, GatorAide, fig newton bars, granola bars,snack bars, dill pickles and pickle juice. ( Dill pickles and pickle juice are popular among cyclists primarily for electrolyte replenishment and muscle cramp relief. The high sodium and chloride content helps replace salts lost through sweat, which is particularly beneficial for "salty sweaters" or during long, hot rides). Mary and Skip were at the AID station until after 2:00 PM, long after the last bike riders came by and took down the tent and packed up all the supplies.
