Did you know? Embrace English volunteers serve our students in ways other than just English classes. From monthly birthday parties for students, to wonderful home-made pastries and snacks for everyone to enjoy, Embrace English is more than a ministry teaching English, it is a relationship-first outreach to our local Greenville community.

On the board, you can see one of our weekly lessons, teaching our students conversational English having to do with emotions. Once the class understands the meaning of a new word, it is integrated into a sentence with interactive class participation and pictures assisting the learning experience.

Students enjoyed fresh baked dessert during class and stayed afterwards to talk with fellow students and Embrace Volunteers. We are so excited for what the Lord is doing here at Embrace English!

Did you know? Embrace English ESL Program is one of the upstate's only ESL programs with a consistent curriculum across its classrooms. With the Neighbor To Neighbor curriculum, our students are guided from pre-literate to intermediate-advanced!

Embrace English Classrooms: Beginner's Class 📚

Over two years ago, Embrace English started as an idea, and as the Lord willed, that idea became a reality, starting with a thriving beginner's class that has steadily continued to grow, and now we have a teen's class, a pre-literate class, an intermediate class, and an advanced class!

Today, we are zooming in to help you learn a little bit about our beginner women's English class.

Our students come to class after a long day at work, smiling and ready to learn. Elise Smith and Rosa Myers (our exceptional beginner women's class teachers), work hard to prepare material using the unified English learning curriculum called "Neighbor To Neighbor", which takes our students from the intro level, through beginner, intermediate, and high intermediate/advanced levels of English learning.

With years of teaching experience and a master's degree in English, Elise regularly takes the curriculum and creates unique lessons that are suited for the level of the students every week.

We are so excited to see how the Lord grows the ministry and continues to work in hearts and minds at Embrace!

We offer beginner, intermediate, AND advanced classes, and we are excited to announce a BRAND NEW pre-literate class for those who are trying to begin their English learning journey but don't know how to start!
