Our chapter had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Sigma Tau Delta national convention held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Our president, vice president, and treasurer presented “Beyond the Ban” on Monday. We had a round table discussion analyzing banned books in our country specifically in public education. We engaged with our audience on the importance, impact, causes, and effects of removing valuable literature in our communities.
We are so grateful for this opportunity to represent the University of Tampa and the College of Arts and Letters on a national stage. Huge thanks to Dr. Boyd for being our faculty moderator and the Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry for helping fund this trip.
We had the best time presenting our discussion, networking, and exploring New Orleans. Thank you to everyone who made it possible!!
