40 MILLION year old beach CRYSTALS that GLOW?! And youβre telling me I can find them right here in Tampa Bay?! β¨πͺΈ
Agatized coral is actually the state stone of Florida but it feels like a local secret! While most people are out on the beaches looking for sea shells, Ben and I are looking at rocks and we always get questions about it!
You truly never know what you can find on the beaches here if you slow down and look a little closer! π©΅ππͺΈβ¨π§πΌββοΈπ
Hot girls support brands that give back to the ocean! π
Iβm obsessed with Ocean Collection where every pair of sunnies is made from recycled fishing nets and other ocean plastic. Plus! Every purchase gives back to the so you can look cute and help save the sea turtles this summer! π’

New crab alert! Have you ever heard of the granulate shellback crab? π¦
These guys like a hermit crabs flat cousin. They are able to secure themselves into a bivalve shell and wear it around for protection! If youβve ever noticed a shell walking on its own, it was probably one of these guys! β¨π¦ͺπ¦ππ§πΌββοΈ
The Flying Gurnard is one of the most BEAUTIFUL fish Iβve ever seen! π
When they walk along the sea floor with their fins closed they honestly resemble moths but when they swim they reveal the most gorgeous blue spotted wings!
Have you ever come across a flying gurnard? π¦πͺΈπ§πΌββοΈποΈπβ¨π©΅

Beachcombing and looking for sea shells is a favorite pastime for tourists and locals but finding a live snail will always be the most special to me! Knowing that these snails and mollusks spent their whole lives creating something so beautifully unique is so magical!
I love being able to appreciate the creatures that make the sea shells I love so much! Which shell/snail was your favorite? Which ones did I miss?! πππ§πΌββοΈπβ¨π©΅π¦ͺποΈ
Scallops have HUNDREDS of blue eyes that help them to spot predators coming from all angles! ππ©΅
The scallop population in Tampa Bay has unfortunately been negatively impacted by sea grass loss, pollution, and coastal development so finding a live one always feels extra special! β¨
My paddle board saved the day after my expensive Body Glove board broke! π
Iβm so glad I had my backup board close by because the pink sunset and dolphin encounters were something we did not want to miss! And shoutout to my love for quickly inflating the new board and saving our adventure .living.mindfully π©΅π¬πππ§πΌββοΈπ£ββοΈ

These natural forming crystals can be up to 40 MILLION years old and the way they sparkle in the sunlight always takes my breath away! Agatized coral is actually Floridaβs state stone and provides us insight into what life underwater looked like millions of years ago! π
