New research shows that Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) are linked to lower rates of chronic physical and mental health conditions in adulthood.
Key findings:
6–7 PCEs → 27% lower risk of diabetes, 47% lower risk of heart disease
At least 1 PCE → ~20% lower risk of COPD
PCEs linked to higher income, education, and mental well-being
Estimated $216 billion saved in healthcare & economic costs across 4 states
