This is a top bar beehive I designed and built for my friend and client Jay. Very happy to find out that after just one day there are bees exploring it as a possible home!

I just had the privilege of delivering a 'top bar' bee hive to my friend Jay York. Check his work out at Grove Brands! I am super excited about making a little house for bees that will be pollinating our neighborhood food and flowers.This was a really fun build.

Excited to deliver a paired table and bookshelf set for a clients office yesterday. Both are from Ash. The leaning bookcase was particularly challenging, but I was ultimately very happy with the tolerance on the diagonal dado joint I cut for the shelves.

Throwback Thursday. Back in 2014 I worked with a client at a local day school to create an interactive playground. The elements include a small ‘schoolhouse’, an octagonal crawl tube, a bamboo sensory experience, an organically shaped multi-level play platform and a fanciful pathway that was later adorned with colorful fabric to create imaginative play spaces. Out of all the playgrounds I have been a part of building this one was the most fun. I was able to design and build all the pieces with a spirit of whimsy and form that blended with the environment and gave children a challenging but safe space to explore their imaginations.

Throw Back Thursday. This is a small sculpture I did back in 2018. I’d love to do some more work like this on a larger scale at some point. I think it could be beautiful to use the pattern plywood in combination with hardwoods in furniture design.

I had the pleasure of creating a much needed piece of office furniture for a friend who runs a local business. I am ecstatic with the results and I think they like it too. This is a 48" round Ash wood table top milled from rough sawn 8/4 stock. Its finished thickness is 1 1/2". It is coated with a hard wax finish called Rubio Monocoat which provides a matte sheen that protects the wood while leaving the full character of the wood on display. Custom gate. Designed with client to replicate existing gate. Built with cypress and cedar on marine grade plywood. Special thanks to The Etch Pros for laser cutting sunbursts.
