In Memory of Mrs. Anita Fielder Collier
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Mrs. Anita Maute Fielder Collier, who lovingly taught first grade at Carrollwood Elementary during the 1980s and 1990s. She was a gifted educator who shaped countless young lives with her enthusiasm, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her students.
Born on November 14, 1955, she touched the lives of so many during her 37 years as a first grade teacher. Those of us fortunate enough to have been her students or colleagues remember her vibrant personality, bright smile, and warm heart. She was a light in every room she entered, wearing her joy as brightly as her colorful outfits and sharing her laughter generously.
Anita passed away suddenly on December 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband Bill, daughter Kelly, and son-in-law Matt Toomey and daughter Ashley and son-in-law Travis Hofstetter. Her family finds solace in knowing that Anita is now spending eternity in heaven with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Anita loved her family, faith, friends, The Peanuts Gang, her dogs, and sharing joy in so many ways—from Words With Friends games to Zumba to her passion for holiday decorations. Jeremiah 29:11, a verse close to her heart, offers comfort and hope to all who grieve her loss.
A remembrance service celebrating Anita’s life will be held
📆Sunday, January 5, 2025
⏰3:00 PM
📍St. James United Methodist Church, 16202 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa.
In honor of Anita's love for bright and cheerful colors, the family requests attendees wear colorful (church-appropriate) clothing.
Please join us in remembering and honoring Ms. Anita Fielder Collier, an amazing teacher, devoted family member, and cherished friend. Feel free to share your stories and memories of her in the comments below so we can celebrate her life together.
Rest in peace, Ms. Anita. You will always hold a special place in the hearts of the Carrollwood Elementary community and beyond.
