Culture, cuisine, and Cuban sandwiches — the Columbia Restaurant has it all. 🍽️
In the inaugural episode of Made to Share, a live studio food and culture series, we explore one of Tampa’s most iconic culinary institutions: the Columbia Restaurant. Owned and operated by the Gonzmart family, the restaurant has spent generations preserving history and tradition while fostering a strong sense of community.
“Our food is all about history,” said Richard Gonzmart. “Our menu is all about where it comes from.”
Discover the story behind the Columbia Restaurant, the Gonzmart family, and their connection to USF in the first episode of Made to Share, available now on YouTube.

Throughout the spring semester, the Honors College brought faculty and students together through its Midday Music series, featuring performances by talented musicians from across campus and the USF School of Music. From piano, guitar, violin, and cello to a variety of other instruments, each event filled the Honors Atrium with creativity, collaboration, and community. We look forward to welcoming more Midday Music performances next fall!

From the coastline to the classroom, Oliver Laczko’s dedication to sustainability left a lasting impact on the St. Petersburg community. 🌊
Growing up in Florida, Oliver always had a deep-rooted passion for the environment, and during college, he discovered his focus on restoration and wetland ecology. Having a direct connection to the ecosystems he studied allowed him to lead sustainability initiatives and educate the St. Pete community about its ecological history.
“I didn’t choose USF St. Petersburg — it chose me.”
Watch or listen to Oliver’s story in the latest episode of the Honor Roll Podcast, available now on YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts.
