Medicating cats can be far less difficult than many people realize. Ingrid Johnson has so many fantastic videos on her Fundamentally Feline site!

My beautiful fabulous senior lady. She’s exhausted from all of our recent adventures… but looking so gorgeous while she catches the šŸ’¤šŸ’¤šŸ’¤ssss so she can start over again tomorrow. She’s an inspiration to me every day when I feel like giving up and just staying in bed. Jazzy Bird gets me up and going, no matter what.

I know this is horrific to think about but I think this link won’t show a traumatic visual but will take you to the donation site and you can review specific details if you want them. White Coat Waste Project monitors the NIH and fights to end the torture of animals for no purpose that also cost taxpayers millions.

I just donated to the MOST EFFECTIVE group for getting animals out of labs. White Coat Waste is bipartisan campaign to expose & close the U.S. government’s $20B animal testing business. Join the fight!

I worry all the time about things my cats could accidentally unalive themselves with and chip bags and food/litter storage bins weren’t on my list! Apparently dogs FREQUENTLY suffocate in chip bags lined with Mylar, and many cats do also. Please go to this website, read how to prevent these incidents and share the info. It’s important for wildlife too! Cut the bags in half lengthwise, crush cans, cut any rings and put holes in plastic jars. 😿

Life is such a journey. I often segment my life based on the animals around me. 16 years ago I was helpiing Humane Society of Tampa Bay with cat behavior and my friend Mandy introduced me to a calico girl named Lizzy. Friendly, confident, LOVED food and her colors would pop on video. I was doing a lot of video and photo in those days. Before YouTube and smartphones which might be unfathomable to a segment of the population lol. Back then, I needed a cat that would show up on camera and a calico fit the need. Lizzy came home with me that day but I didn’t love her name. I think I went with Jasmine for some reason? It’s long enough ago that I’m not sure of that detail. My mom was visiting and we came home with a new cat and my husband was beyond angry. ā€œGet rid of the cat!! The cat goes or I go…!ā€ argument ensued and I said this cat is important for my business of teaching people about cats. She’s staying. Within a week I received a call that Mandy unalived herself. I’m drenched in tears remembering this phone call. I actually laughed initially because it was so preposterous. But it was real. I renamed this amazing calico Jazzmanda in honor of Mandy. I don’t know if her family ever knew but I have to believe they were aware of Mandy’s influence on so many people and animals.

Here we are 16 YEARS later and Jazzy Cat is still with me and that husband is now an ex after he decided he wanted a 23yr old girlfriend and to relive his life without any of the responsibilities we had to navigate. I am completely satisfied with this outcome and I would have sped up the timeline if I knew. But I would choose this cat over any man. She has helped us win writing and video awards. She has helped educate people about cat training and behavior. She is a cat that could have disappeared in the system but for our random meeting which elevated both of us.

Jazzmanda aka Jazzy Cat aka Jazzy Bird…. You are a queen. We have had 16 fabulous years together and I know our time isn’t infinite but I’m enjoying every second. And we thank everyone that has loved a Jazzy video. Purrrs

Very sad news this morning. Snowball was a sweet kitty that I was trying to save but unfortunately she passed to the rainbow bridge this morning šŸŒˆšŸ’” She was a wonderful community cat that my neighbor relocated here to socialize her. She lived a good life, sunning herself in my yard every day, until she was attacked by a raccoon or dog. Then she received terrible vet care, which is when i intervened at my neighbor’s request. By that point she had A LOT going on including possibly FIP. She was feeling so much better after various treatments and had a really good two weeks and then rapidly deteriorated over the past few days. Her little body just couldn’t take any more. I’m pretty heartbroken but I’m relieved she is no longer in pain. I learned a lot about FIP and, in case you are unaware, there is now a cure. If you ever need help, Feline Infectious Peritonitis Education and Awareness by Help for FIPĀ® is an excellent resource with supportive knowledgeable people. There are a lot of scammers out there so be very careful.

Jenny Beard Biehunko thank you so much for your help with Snowball. We tried šŸ’”

Fly free from pain sweet Snowball. šŸ˜æšŸ’•šŸŒˆšŸ¾
