My Teaching Philosophy in a nutshell

In teaching group classes I try to focus on areas that are often left unexplained in instruction and might create confusion, or movements/concepts/styles that are lost, but have real value, or lastly on simplification of things for social dance application that are often presented in a way that is competitive/exhibitionist and intimidating so as to allow access and a pathway to learning.

In private instruction I focus on the unique individual and their wants/needs and often on developing style, control, good connection, coordination, muscular isolation, subtlety, power, and emotional content. -The Good Stuff ;-)

I had a great time at the Red, White, and Blue Team Match today with Julia Meyerovich and the crew from 1st Dance Studio, Bradenton Dance Center, and Magic Dance Club. My ladies looked fabulous and proved you can be awesome without routines, just personality, technique, and dedication!

I've always enjoyed teaching group classes, because it's a chance to share my unique view on dance evolution. I aim to start being more active in creating classes this year and hope to see you all there!

Wow, what an great research day....several new Turkey Trot steps, a new 1914 Fox Trot article with pictures, one article that describes most of the street dances popular in NY dance halls in 1913, hesitation waltz....and on and on...I'm on fire today!!!

Into The Ballroom is based out of Tampa Bay, FL, with teaching locations in St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and Brandon.
