-Changing up your accommodations to adapt to change
This training is designed to help families prepare for the academic, social, and emotional changes that come with this important milestone. Participants will learn how services and supports may shift in middle school and how to stay actively involved in the I E P process. The workshop also explores practical strategies for building organization, communication, and self advocacy skills in students with disabilities. Families will leave with tools and confidence to support greater independence and long term success.

This short lightning workshop with Parent Training Coordinator Glenesha Milner, highlights why emergency care planning is especially important for children and youth with special health care needs. In just a brief session, families will learn how having a plan in place before a disaster or crisis can help them respond more quickly, calmly, and confidently.
The workshop explains key information that should be included in an emergency care plan, such as medication lists, food allergies, therapy schedules, emergency action steps, and important contact numbers. Families will also be encouraged to keep an electronic copy of the plan available so they can access critical information when it is needed most.
This lightning workshop is designed to give caregivers a quick, practical overview of emergency care planning and help them take the next step toward keeping their child safe and supported during an emergency.
