We’d like to give a special thank you to all of our members that dedicated time to volunteer at the COVID testing center this semester. This is only a few of our volunteers, but so many more members have participated. This has been our biggest ongoing volunteer project this Fall and we truly appreciate the participation! Hello friends! My name is Nicole Velasquez and I am very excited to serve as your secretary for the 2020-2021 school year. I am an upcoming senior with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. This summer I have been taking classes and spending a lot of quality time with my family. I aspire to work in emergency medicine and I am a member of the Medical Response Unit at FSU, which has allowed me to acquire valuable patient care experience on campus. Also, I got my EMT license and had the wonderful opportunity of shadowing paramedics and assisting patients during my ride-alongs. Some fun facts about me is that I love to garden and enjoy looking after my succulents and one of my favorite pastimes is going on hikes in Tallahassee’s beautiful trails!

Hello Friends and Alumni,
I would like to say a warm welcome to all of our followers and introduce myself. My name is Logan Wortelboer and I will be serving as your president this school year. I’m currently going into my senior year as a psychology major with a minor in biology. Some of you may recognize me as the previous event coordinator for the club where I had the pleasure to learn a whole lot about leadership and event planning. This summer I’ve been spending most days working at a pediatric office as a medical assistant/tech. I love learning new things about lifespan development and meeting so many friendly little ones. A fun fact about me is that I volunteered abroad last summer in Panama providing medical treatment and supplies to underserved communities. During this trip I allowed myself to get lost in service and found an aspect of medicine that was so simple, yet incredibly fulfilling. As a person the thing that inspires me the most is the feeling of helping someone, no matter how small.
