Battery 8U Tryouts — This Wednesday!

The roster for our brand-new Fall 2026 8U travel team are filling up fast. Open tryouts start this Wednesday night at Holy Comforter. If your daughter wants to learn advanced skills and get great coaching, come out and compete for a spot on the team.

Who (Birth Window): Sept 1, 2017 – Aug 31, 2019
When: This Wednesday, June 3rd (and June 10th) at 6:30 PM

Most people probably never noticed, but for the last two years, a literal pro softball player has been quietly putting in work right next to them.

Caroline Jacobsen has spent her spring training with us here at Battery Fastpitch through March, April, and May. If you saw her in the cages with her dad, you might not have realized she plays for the Utah Talons in the AUSL Pro League!

What we love about Caroline is her routine. She and her dad come in, hit for about 30 minutes, and leave. No over-doing it—just incredibly methodical, focused training. It’s a perfect example for our younger athletes on what pro discipline looks like.

Her season starts up in just a couple of weeks, and everyone at The Battery wants to wish her the absolute best. Go crush it, Caroline!

Help us welcome Coach Si to the team! Sierra is a former Marshall infielder who finished her college career on their all-time leaderboards for home runs and slugging. She’s a former shortstop who brings elite defensive energy, plus a huge passion for the weight room and strength training.

New Instructor Alert: Meet Josie Driggers

We’re excited to add Josie to the coaching staff at Battery Fastpitch.

Josie played her college softball at Radford University as both a pitcher and an outfielder. On offense, she brings a lot of versatility to the table—she was a left-handed power hitter who also specialized in slapping and small ball.

Coach Josie is officially accepting new athletes and is available for:
- Pitching Lessons
- Hitting Lessons
- Slap Hitting Lessons

She’s passionate about helping young players develop their skills and build confidence on the field.

Josie Driggers

12U put in work this weekend at USSSA Veterans Classic.

Started at 8 AM and grinded all day through 6 games to finish as a finalist in the A Bracket Championship. It was long and hot day (summer activated!), but the girls fought the whole time. The bats were also hot all weekend too, hitting .432 as a team with 51 hits, 48 runs, and 39 RBIs.

Huge thank you to our pickup players, Aubree Newberry and Trista Wheeler, for coming out and helping us get it done.

We're back at practice this week and next getting ready for the North Florida State Championship in Lake City. This team moves up to 14U next year and we're pumped to watch them keep growing. 🥎

The 14U org practice vibe was unmatched today!

Everyone locked in and the growth is actually insane. Big things coming for the Battery this summer and fall 🥎⚡️

Battery-Herzog 14U hits the clay again this weekend here in Tallahassee. These ladies are coming off one of their best tournament performances ever, so we’re all excited to see the encore.

This schedule is for the pool play games on Saturday. It’s a 2 day tourney with bracket on Sunday.

All 3 Battery teams will be representing, so come out, cheer them on, and watch some awesome softball!
