APHA World Championship Show
Day Two Saturday

Patty and I were up and ready for the APHA PBRIP Sweepstakes! It was blistering hot 🥵 again. So hot Cheetah said she needed a cold drink of water 💦 out of the ice chest🧊 😂

Both of us had nice runs but no money 💰😝

David, Coeta, and Aunt Claudia headed north. Patty, Tonya, and I got the horses cooled down, settled back in their stalls, and went to grab lunch. We ate at the little Mexican restaurant by their hotel and it was really good!

Back to the Will Roger’s to begin the pack up and load out. It was so steamy hot 🥵 just miserable ☹️ I used my little solar generator and plugged fans in the trailer to help keep the horses 🐎 cool. We loaded out fast and headed north. The trip home was much smoother than the trip down so we got home before dark. Whew this girl was pooped! 🤣😂😝

APHA World Championship Show
Day One Friday

The morning started off with a marching band! 🎶 That’ll get you moving!

Then Daytona and I were up in APHA World Championship Show barrel classes. Unfortunately, a downed 1st barrel eliminated our chance for a World Championship 😩

But on the bright side, Annie Forrest and Sidney Lee Forrest came to watch and cheer us on! After good, cool baths for the horses, we all went to Terry Black’s BBQ for lunch. Good times!
Back for a little rest, evening chores and prep time for tomorrow.
David and I went to Joe T. Garcia’s Mexican restaurant and grabbed a bite for dinner. The quesadillas were delicious 😋 and we had the best time just chilling ❤️

The dust had just settled on the Pinto World Show and then 2 days later off to Ft. Worth we went for the APHA World Show 🐎
It was a very hot drive down and we made it into Decatur around 5pm. Spent the night at NRS and then travelled over to the Will Roger’s Coliseum on Thursday morning. Thought we were going to melt getting unloaded, stalls set up, LQ parked in the RV lot, and checked ✅ in but we did it! Finished off our day with dinner at Terry Black’s BBQ…oh so good!!

2026 Pinto World Championship Show

The 3rd barrel is my fault! I took up her rein and left a little flap hanging. Of course, Cheetah saw it as she rounded the barrel 😝
Even with the step off the 3rd, they finished 4th in the World!! 👏🏻👏🏻Needless to say we fixed that rein before Paint World! 🛢️🐎🩷🤠🏆🙏🏻

June starts our very busy show season here at the ranch…it’s go! go! go! for about 3 weeks straight 💃
First up the Pinto World Championship Show in Tulsa OK. It’s one of our favorites; close to home, family oriented, and the people (Office, Stalls, Arena) are so nice! This year barrel racing was moved to Sunday and after the Yellow Rose Futurity. It was a nice change of pace. Again this year, trying to prep for this show was challenging 😝 but Patty and I didn’t give up! Entries were down due to the Bonus Race Finals but the competition was tough, tough! Daytona and I made a beautiful run (with a little mishap at the end) and won the World Championship in Open Barrels. Patty and Cheetah brought it and finished 4th in Amateur Barrels! Thank you LORD for such blessings and great times with family and friends! Thank you to my small village that keeps me going! Stephanie thank you for letting me wear “my red hat” in the awards ceremony 🏆🛢️🐎🤠❤️🙏🏻

June starts our busy show season around the ranch! This year was my granddaughter’s first year competing at the Pinto World Show. She and her horse Duke have been a team almost a year and have worked hard to master their events. Let’s just say that hard work paid off! Congratulations to Hadley and aka Duke on their Reserve World Championship! This Mimi is so very proud! 🩷🐎👏🏻🏆🙏🏻
