Please join us in congratulating Mr. Brendan Stanton and the incredible scholars from his Photo/Video courses for their outstanding work in a short film contest hosted this week at Pacific Lutheran University by the Advanced Media Entertainment Society (AMES).
Fifteen student teams competed, each given just five weeks to plan, film, and edit a short film centered on the theme “Everything Has a Cost.” This marks the second year Keithley students have participated in the contest, and their work once again demonstrated creativity, collaboration, and perseverance under pressure.
As Mr. Stanton shared, “I am very proud of my students for working as a team under pressure. It is difficult to do everything they did in such a short period of time.” Their films were judged by students from PLU’s Film and Media program, who selected the teams advancing in the competition.
🎬 Results to Celebrate:
1st Place: Moirah M., Katerina B., and Valentina P.J, for a film featuring original, inspirational narration paired with nature b roll
2nd Place: Ammika T., Simardeep K., Alex H., and Arianny R.A. for a powerful drama exploring how opinions can impact friendships
3rd Place (Tie): Nylah O., Shaelyn D., Aaliyah C., Ayden L., Jiah E., Lee B., Jrayden K., Laron T., Isaac H.C., Tjay T., Jeremy G., Marionte R., and Richard G.
The top teams will move on to compete at the state competition on May 16.
Please take a moment to congratulate Mr. Stanton and the scholars we collectively teach for representing Keithley with excellence, creativity, and heart. This achievement reflects not only their hard work, but the strength of our shared commitment to meaningful learning experiences for students
