We’re bringing our scrap wood cities activity along for the celebration. Come craft your ideal city scape from our fun crafty bits, decorate and paint then and proclaim yourself mayor!

This is a free community activity. Shop sales and grab a free hot dog while you’re at it.

11-4 at Second Use Tacoma

Hey community! We are having our February CRAFT NIGHT in March!

Join us for an evening of all ages crafting around reflections. We always have a creative prompt but the crafting and exploration opportunities are wide open.

Sunday, 3/12 from 4-9pm our shop is open to you for creative endeavors along with drinks, snacks and community building.

This is a free community event open to all. Donations are always appreciated but never necessary.

We’re going to be at Ice Cream Social this Saturday, 3/4 from 11-1 for a fun craft event!

We will be bringing some of our fun supplies and will be creating our fantasy ice cream flavors!

This activity was developed with the assistance of students from Summit Olympus High School. Scroll through the photos to see some examples they made!

This is a free community event with a suggested donation of $15.

We had our first two official field trips to the “lab” this week! Pathfinder K-8 from West Seattle dropped by for two days of a hands on math experience!

We engineered a project in tandem with their teacher, J Nicole, to fit the students curriculum. Measuring area, volume, then displaying the work in scientific notation.

We designed and built boxes to their personal specifications, completed a math worksheet then had the chance to personalize and embellish their creations.

It was awesome watching the young people explore new skills and materials while putting a functional understanding to the work they’re doing in class.

Hang out with us tomorrow at Mattice Beauty Supply at 5pm for a 21+ “Yournament” making workshop!

You’ll have all the supplies you need to make a personalized ornament along with snacks and drinks!

This event is at 5pm, 12/21 at 3906 S 12th st.

There is no charge but donations are always appreciated!

The last CRAFT NIGHT of the year is coming up! It is also our one year anniversary of the first CRAFT NIGHT!

Join us for this free community event where we will have craft activities, food drink and a general good time for youth and adults.

We will be hanging out at 1118 E D St from 5-10pm on 12/18. Drop in whenever. Feel free to bring a refreshment to share or just yourself.

This “fastener use cube” was the very first tool we created for educating. It’s a rough model but got the point across. We love this stuff and want to share what we know with you.

We are chatting with and to create programs that will offer folks opportunities to create, repair and maintain.

The rainy season is upon us and we are eager to show our appreciation to the change by celebrating fall….ing with a gravity themed CRAFT NIGHT!!

Drop in on 11/16 anytime from 6-10pm for crafty activities that may include, but not limited to; parachutes, alka seltzer rockets, falling object splatter painting, build your own balance game, silly DIY hazard signs and Probably something to do with marbles and rubberbands….

Any other ideas?

As usual, we’ll have things to eat and drink while you put yourself in crafty mode.

The activities are always free and open to the public. We do invite you to donate if comfortable.

We want to stress that all ages are encouraged to attend. This means you, families with kids, singles, adults, teens, couples and so on. This is a great way to build community while having fun and being creative.

CRAFT NIGHT is happening again!

On 10/19 from 6-10pm we will be hosting a puppet themed CRAFT NIGHT in honor of our friend .the.maker turning 11!!

Bring your family, friends, dates, next door neighbors, baristas, or auto mechanic to an all ages event at 1118 E D St, Tacoma Wa 98421.

We will be crafting all manner of puppet your creative mind can dream up. Sock puppet, paper bag puppet, finger puppets…can you craft a marionette!? Come find out!

We are in the process of figuring out a stage so we can test drive our new creations!!

BALLOONS GALORE!

This craft night was inspired by the awesome donations from the museum. We received a ton of balloons and thought it would be cool to see what y’all came up with!

So we’re doing it. On Tuesday we are going to have a ton of balloons at the ready, crafty ideas, steamy ideas, snacks, drinks and on hand to show us how to make twisty balloon creations!

A free community event where we can be creative together. Hope to see you there!

We are so excited to partner with high school this school year with their Expeditions program.

What a cool opportunity for these young people!!

Students get to choose from a TON of program options to participate in for 2 weeks at a time, four times a year. A chance to experience fields they may want to pursue. They’ll also have to learn to navigate to these opportunities from campus. A real community learning experience. If you happen to see some of these folks navigating their way around town this school year, give them a hand, will ya.
