VISITING OLYMPIAN PROGRAM!! Working with Jayna, these national team members will help NHA players to improve specific skills and techniques, including off-ice routines. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
National Hockey Academy (NHA) players will attend The Manlius Pebble Hill School (MPH) in DeWitt, NY (just outside of Syracuse). NHA combines the best of the hockey academies and the prep school experience. The hockey season is 9 months long, with over 60 games, while at the same time, The Manlius Pebble Hill School provides one of the best academic experiences found anywhere. OTHER SPORTS AND EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Students are able, in fact encouraged, to participate in other sports at MPH. And, of course, the full range of extracurricular activities are available to our players, including the performing arts, community service, over 20 clubs, or working on the school newspaper. ACADEMIC ADVISING/ASSISTANCE
NHA players will have an MPH academic advisor, whose responsibility will be just to NHA students. In addition, NHA will also provide an academic advisor, responsible for:
- SAT Preparation (in addition to MPH's SAT Prep. Course),
- Coordination of NHA Study Groups,
- Oversight of NHA's Academic Mentoring Program (whereby NHA students with particular academic strengths will tudor/mentor other players,
- College advisement and selection,
ROOM AND BOARD
NHA players will reside together in a large house located near MPH (Photos Coming Soon!). 24 hour supervision will be provided by a live-in Residence Counselor. All meals will be provided. MPH ADMISSION

- Eighty-five percent of Middle and Upper School students participate in extracurricular team sports; 85% participate in performing arts. Our athletes are our performing artists.
- MPH has the highest percentage of National Merit and National Achievement scholars in Central New York over a five-year period.
- Sixteen advanced placement (AP) courses are offered; roughly two-thirds of the MPH students taking an AP exam typically receive college credit or advanced standing for scores of “3” or better.
- Average SAT scores for class of 2010: 602 math, 613 critical reading, 616 writing. MPH average SAT scores over five years are the highest in Central New York.
- More than half of the 2010 MPH graduates received college merit scholarships, which totaled millions of dollars.
- One-third of Seniors take AP Calculus – far more than in other CNY schools.
- Ninety percent of MPH students graduate from four-year colleges within 5 years. Nationally, only 18% do so. HOCKEY
Home Rink: Onondaga Nation Arena. The Syracuse area's finest hockey facility and just minutes away from MPH and the NHA House! Competition: NHA will compete in Ontario's Lower Lakes Female Hockey League, the largest and most competitive girls league in the world! In addition, NHA will play an aggressive Independent schedule against top Prep teams, and Club teams in both the U.S. and Canada, including JWHL and PWHL teams. NHA will compete against 16U, 19U, Midget, and Intermediate teams. Tournaments: NHA will typically compete in one tournament per month. Those will include: Rochester Edge Fire on Ice, Stoney Creek Showcase, Nepean Showcase, Polar Bear Tournament, and the JWHL Challenge Cup. Training: NHA will play a 60+ game schedule. An average of 7.5 hours will be spent on the ice each week, including practice, games, skill development, and power skating training. Practice-to-game ratio will average 4:1. Special concentration will be paid to off-ice training and core development throughout the year. TUITION
