The STEAM Concert Choir & Jazz combo "Quarter After" were proud to be part of the evenings entertainment at the The Syracuse City School District 3rd Annual Tony Awards at The Palace Theatre Syracuse. The entertainment also included; Pride of SCSD Drumline, a dance performance by Hyun Jae Davis and the Corcoran Choir.

Thank you to the SCSD Office of Family Engagement for hosting such a wonderful event honoring those that make an impact in our school community.

Data Warriors students representing Henninger High School, Nottingham High School, and the Regional STEAM High School recently traveled to Buffalo to present about the investigations they've conducted in equity and civics.

They spoke with 100+ Master Teachers about their Youth Participatory Action Research - which focuses on food justice, snow removal, lead poisoning, code violations, the New York State Lottery, and more. Before they headed home, they made a quick stop to see Niagara Falls! You can hear the Data Warriors talk about their research - and ideas for Syracuse - at the upcoming SCSD Everybody Counts celebration at the Everson Museum of Art on May 30th.

We’re reaching out to our performing arts families in hopes of gathering a little extra support for our student performers this week.

First, thank you to everyone who has already contributed snacks — we truly appreciate your generosity and support!

We are currently looking for help providing dinner for our students on Thursday, as they will be staying after school through the evening for their performance. Our goal is to make sure they have a good meal before showtime.

There are a couple of ways you can help:

• Donate a prepared meal or food items for the group
• Make a monetary donation so we can shop for and prepare dinner ourselves

If you would prefer to donate financially, I’ve attached a QR code linked directly to our Zeffy account to support the students’ dinner.

And if cooking for a crowd is your thing — wahoo! We’d love your help!

Please let me know how you’d like to contribute, and I’ll coordinate the details, including drop-off instructions and what items are still needed.

Thank you so much for the donations we have received so far- we really appreciate it.

We are still looking for some cash/gift card donations and 12 packs of soda: Coke, Sprite and Dr. Pepper. You can use the QR code in the flyer for any donations through Zeffy.

As the FTO, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible community being built at STEAM and the teachers and staff behind it.

The staff at STEAM are helping students build their futures brick by brick, creating real pathways forward and empowering them to become contributing members of the Syracuse community.

We have seen first hand how so many go above and beyond and we want them to know, we see you and truly appreciate every movement made to support all of our STEAM students.

We are proud to be STEAM, proud to be a place where students from across the area can learn, grow, and build their future. Most of all PROUD of our teachers and staff.
