Wrigley Field is over a century old, and it just did something no MLB ballpark has done before: it’s been named baseball’s first Certified Autism Center.

To earn it, at least 80 percent of guest-facing staff completed training in autism and sensory needs, so they know how to support autistic and sensory-sensitive fans from the moment they walk in.

It builds on years of quiet work. A sensory room on the main concourse, added in 2024 with KultureCity, offers soft lighting and a calm space to step away. Fans can grab free sensory bags with noise-reducing headphones, and there’s closed captioning and assistive listening throughout the park.

A ballpark is a wall of sound. For a lot of families that’s the magic. For an autistic fan, it can be the reason they never get to go.

Wrigley just made sure they can. Not by turning down the game, but by giving people a place to land when they need one.

One thing I've learned as a business owner is that you can't pour from an empty cup.

Every day, our team shows up with compassion, patience, and dedication to help children and their families reach meaningful goals. It's incredibly rewarding work, but it's also work that asks a lot of the people doing it. That's why I believe it's just as important to care for our team as it is to care for the families we serve.

This week, we took time to slow down, learn, and have honest conversations about burnout—what it looks like, how to recognize it, and practical ways to manage it before it takes a toll. It was a meaningful reminder that taking care of ourselves allows us to continue showing up as our best selves for the people who count on us.

A huge thank you to Dana at Ellie for leading such a thoughtful and impactful workshop. Your kindness, knowledge, and encouragement made such a difference, and we're grateful you shared your time and expertise with our team.

To my amazing staff—thank you. Thank you for your hearts, your resilience, and the care you give every single day. I know the work isn't always easy, and I hope you know how deeply appreciated you are. Supporting you isn't just something I value—it's something I'm committed to because when our team feels supported, our children and families receive the very best of us.

I'm proud of the culture we're building together, and I'm grateful to be on this journey with such an incredible team.

This weekend, the Sycamore Titans 10U Grey team will take the field wearing special jerseys designed by teammate Lane Stuckert to raise awareness for pediatric cancer during Cal's Angels Swing for a Cure Tournament. We are proud to sponsor these jerseys and help support this important mission.

At Bright Minds Consulting, we believe in the power of community, compassion, and creating opportunities to make a positive impact beyond the services we provide every day. Seeing young athletes come together to support children battling cancer is a reminder of what can be accomplished when a community rallies around a cause.
