🎉 GRANT EXPRESS APPLICATIONS ARE IN! 🐾💙

We are so excited to see the creative ideas our Sweeny ISD staff have submitted through this cycle's Grant Express!

Our applicants will have the opportunity to present their ideas to the Sweeny ISD Education Foundation Board in September, and we can't wait to hear more about the ways these projects could impact our students and classrooms.

This is one of our FAVORITE parts of what we get to do! 💙

We are SO excited to officially invite you to the Sweeny ISD Education Foundation’s Annual Fundraiser — Boots, Bingo & Bonfires: A Fall Night Benefitting Bulldogs! 🤠🐾

Join us for a fun fall evening filled with BINGO, prizes, food, drinks, friends, and plenty of Bulldog spirit — all while supporting Sweeny ISD students and staff!

🐾 WHAT A GREAT WAY TO KICK OFF THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR!

The Sweeny ISD Education Foundation was honored to serve as the food sponsor for the 2026–2027 Sweeny ISD Convocation on Monday, August 3rd!

There is something so special about seeing our entire district come together in one place as we prepare for another year of serving Sweeny ISD students. We were excited to have the opportunity to provide lunch and celebrate the incredible teachers and staff who pour so much into our Bulldogs every single day.

And we have to give a BIG shoutout to Kenjo’s BBQ for catering an AMAZING lunch! Everyone absolutely loved the food, and we are still hearing about how good it was!

Thank you so much, Kenjo’s, for always showing up and supporting our Foundation! We appreciate your continued support more than you know. You and your team are truly top-notch, and we are so thankful to have community partners like you! ❤️

Our Foundation exists because of the generosity and support of our community, and this is exactly what that support allows us to do — give back to the students and staff of Sweeny ISD.

🍎📚WELCOME, NEW SWEENY ISD STAFF MEMBERS! ❤️🐾

We were so excited to have the opportunity to welcome the newest members of Sweeny ISD on Wednesday, July 29th!

I loved getting the chance to visit with our new staff members, share a little about the Sweeny ISD Education Foundation, and talk about the many ways our Foundation works to support the students and staff of SISD.

There was so much excitement in the room, and I cannot wait to see the impact these newest members of our Bulldog family will make throughout our district! ❤️

To help welcome them as they begin this new adventure, the Sweeny ISD Education Foundation was also excited to provide backpacks and school supplies for our new staff members. We hope these items help them feel supported and prepared as they get started at SISD!

To all of our new teachers and staff — WELCOME TO SWEENY ISD! We are so glad you are here and are excited to cheer you on as you begin this next chapter. 🐾📚

We had the opportunity to do a walk-through of the High School Ag room, and WOW… Mr. Josh Davis is doing some truly incredible things for our students! 💙

This all started back in the fall when Mr. Davis applied for a Bright Minds Grant to replace an outdated CNC machine that was no longer reliable. He recognized a gap—our students weren’t getting the same hands-on, real-world experience as other districts when it came to learning this skill—and he was determined to change that!

Mr. Davis spent countless hours researching and finding the right CNC machine—one that would not only fit within budget but truly elevate learning in his classroom. Thanks to the support of the Sweeny ISD Education Foundation and the partnership with Phillips 66, that vision became a reality. Together, we were able to fully fund this game-changing piece of equipment!

Now, the machine is installed, up and running, and already making an impact. Mr. Davis has gone above and beyond—completing multiple trainings to ensure he can give students the absolute best experience possible.

This is what it’s all about—passion, innovation, and doing whatever it takes to give our students opportunities that prepare them for their future. 💙🐾

There are some events that just stick with you… and the Top 10% Luncheon is hands down one of those events. 💙

Getting to watch our students stand up and honor the educators who have shaped their journey is something I truly can’t put into words. The letters they write… the stories they share… the gratitude they express… it is raw, real, and so incredibly powerful.

These kiddos take the time to reflect on the teachers who poured into them, believed in them, and helped guide them to where they are today—and let me tell you, there is not a dry eye in the room. The emotion and impact felt during this event is something you have to experience to fully understand. It is unforgettable.

I am beyond blessed to be part of an organization that values our students and our educators at such a deep level. Because of the generosity of our Education Foundation Board, this entire event is made possible—ensuring our staff feel seen, appreciated, and celebrated for the life-changing work they do every single day.

To our incredible SISD educators—thank you for being the difference. And to our students—thank you for reminding us why it all matters.

We had such an exciting visit to one of our Bright Minds Grant recipients, Ms. Doak, at the elementary STREAM Lab!

Thanks to grant funding, Ms. Doak was able to bring 3D printers into her classroom—and WOW, what an impact they are making! Students were fully engaged and having a blast as they worked on a creative project designing their very own food trucks.

Ms. Doak shared that these 3D printers go far beyond just “fun.” They support core subjects like math, science, reading, and writing, while also tapping into students’ creativity and problem-solving skills. From brainstorming and researching ideas to writing out their plans and collaborating with peers, students are involved in every step of the process before ever hitting “print.”

Even more impressive—students understand the expectations and take pride in their work, showing responsibility, teamwork, and focus throughout the entire process.

Experiences like this are helping spark interest in future careers such as engineering and drafting—right here in our own community!

We were so inspired by Ms. Doak and her students and all the amazing things happening in that classroom. Thank you for creating such meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities for our students!

We are still smiling from our Spring Bright Minds Grant Cycle Express on Friday, February 20th!

We were beyond excited to hand out 5 grant checks totaling $26,900 to some incredible staff members at Sweeny ISD! These educators have truly gone above and beyond to create innovative, engaging learning experiences for our students — and it is an honor to help bring their ideas to life.

There is nothing better than surprising teachers with funding that will directly impact classrooms across our district. Their creativity, passion, and commitment to students is exactly why the Bright Minds Grant program exists!

We are so thankful for:

A huge THANK YOU to the Brazoria County Retired Teachers Association for their generous $1,000 donation to the Sweeny ISD Education Foundation! We are incredibly grateful for your support and investment in our students and staff.

I had the pleasure of visiting with several of your members and truly enjoyed learning more about your organization. It was such a meaningful conversation — sharing your passion for education and getting to talk about how our foundation works to give back to Sweeny ISD staff through grants that help bring innovative ideas to life in our schools.

It is donors like the Brazoria County Retired Teachers Association who make a true impact and difference within Sweeny ISD students and staff.
