This Dairy Sweet Life We are the L’Esperance Family and have been farming since 2012! We milk about 150 cows in 2 locations in Swanton, VT.

We have a mid-sized maple sugaring operation and sell a variety products. Our latest project is The Dairy Sweet Creamery.

When I say flexible schedule, I mean we can sleep at camp and come home before lunch. Start a new batch of maple milk. Get showered and cleaned up. Run deliveries. Hit the back to school BBQ. Home to feed everyone dinner and then go out to bottle! Clocking out now!

Your bike chain fell off? Great, there’s tools in the shed.
Those milk crates are too heavy? Great, get a wagon.
You’re fell in the mud? Great, here’s a hose.
You’re hungry? Great, there’s bread and peanut butter in the bottom cupboard!

Now before you read and start feeling bad for them, I want you to understand that we are shaping capable, independent, and motivated humans! Kids learn what they live. Each one of them is ending their summer with a new set of skills and strengths. They are navigating problem solving, confidence, self-motivation, and the ability to work as a team. They have worked and played together all summer.

There is no one size fits all when raising kids. But this is what has worked for us in this season! We were raising 90’s kids before it was a trend!

We’ve been quiet on social media lately, but that’s because life is going 100 mph! We are happy the hay is in and our grass crop looks great this year. The bunk is FULL and covered. Our feed is secured for another year. We have had a bunch of new babies born recently. The kids love to check on them! The creamery has been rolling along and milk is moving out of here as fast as we can deliver it. And our little team has been apart of every step in getting it done! 💪

Partnering with other small businesses has been such an excellent experience for us! There are two places that we deliver milk to that give us their leftover food products for our pigs! Less waste is being thrown away, and our cost of raising the animals is being offset. Such a win for everyone!
