Commonwealth Equine is an equine-exclusive ambulatory practice dedicated to the competitive sport horse, the backyard companion, and all equids in between. We serve southeastern Massachusetts (south shore, metro-west, greater Boston) and Rhode Island. Commonwealth Equine is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated **Veterinary Assistant** to join our ambulatory equine practice based in Rehoboth, MA.

**Responsibilities include:**
🐎 Handling horses, including lunging, jogging in hand, and holding horses for exams, vaccinations, dental procedures, etc
🐎 Setting up and maintaining equipment
🐎 Driving the veterinary truck
🐎 Carrying equipment up to 50 lbs
🐎 Providing friendly, professional client interactions
🐎 Feeding ponies peppermints. 😉 *(An essential duty!)*

**Qualifications:**
✔️ Must be at least 18 years old
✔️ Valid driver's license required
✔️ Horse experience is **required**
✔️ No previous veterinary experience necessary—we love to teach!

We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

**Schedule**
📅 Part-time (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays), with additional hours available for the right candidate.

We offer a competitive hourly wage, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to work with horses every day!

Dr. Becky will be away on vacation in Manchester, VT from Monday, July 13th through Sunday, July 19th.

In an emergency or for urgent matters you can contact Commonwealth Equine's office @ 774-704-2904 during normal business hours (8 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday) for help connecting you with local veterinary practices on call.
Dr. Becky will most likely be reachable by phone BUT if you have an emergency outside of office hours and cannot reach Dr. Becky, please call one of the very capable veterinarians listed below.
