Today… I woke up to the sad news that one of my Esthetic daughters had passed. Her Esthetic sister wasn’t sure but she saw something. Sadly, her fears were correct. Krystle Rose… a magical ray of light on this earth had passed. Krystle was light, she was almost not made of flesh and blood… an artist in every sense of the word and pure magic. She was both an angelic presence and a rocker chic. Easily at home on the back of a Harley, gazing at the stars, and giving of her selfless self. Her innocense almost seemed strange because her beauty was beyond vixen. She was a goddess, a mermaid, a good witch, a fairy, and so much more than an ordinary human being.
I am so graced to have known her and to have been her teacher. I was there when she questioned herself and didn’t always do it the way everyone else did… but that is why she was pure in everything she did. I joked with her about sharing a love for Incubus songs and 90’s grunge, delighted in our Sagittarius souls connecting and love of all things “meant to be”. Krystle knew there was so much more. She believed in stars… she believed in a Universe beyond and she believed that she would be reunited some day with her beloved Mother and Sister.
I have no right to write … but I just must… my heart hurts for her family, her fiancé and for all the people that she hadn’t met yet. Krystle you were special, and I say that with a pause…. You touched our lives and we won’t forget. Soar high, sparkle and shine… we will never look at stars quite the same.
Sending my most heartfelt condolences to your family. I can’t imagine their pain at this time. Forever your Miss Mirowski💋

Wisdom and youth
There are times when ageism creeps into our society with judgement. In my experience some of the most wise souls that I’ve ever met have been young in years. Aging doesn’t always create wide choices… I’ve been known to say I’m the most immature 62 year old woman you’ll ever meet. 😂
The term anti aging… what does that even mean? Why is it negative to age? A dear teacher friend would say at the beginning of his class… “we begin to age from te moment we are born.” The skin is not always reflective of the persons numbers.
Many young in numbers women age visually with extreme sun, partying, and poor attitude while an older woman who is confident, avoided sun all her life and drinks her coffee with happiness could radiate joy just because she isn’t thinking about her numbers. When you look at your client in the present moment that is how you treat the skin on that day.
These hands belong to people who others judge by their covers… both people sharing knowledge, life, and strategies in skin care. The collaboration…. Ageless. Isn’t that a sweeter term than anti-aging.

Yes I say this all the time about brows…. The saying brows are sisters not twins… I always say Mother Nature is not a perfectionist… she is an artist. If you want your brows exact the only way to achieve that is with a drawing… brow pencil….
Barbie’s brows are drawn on… for years we’ve never known what Barbie was really thinking. 😉😊
The reason I still prefer to not cut brows ( yes it’s true I don’t like it but clients insist … sometimes I still convince) and I also prefer to leave the vellus hair above the brow as well. Yes… heaven forbid that peach fuzz is there 😂… but I love a truly “natural” brow and that is one of character and imperfection.
As a make up artist product does not “cling” to slippery skin so brow product also holds on to those little hairs much better. 😘

🙌🙌🙌🙌 thank you dear sister Esthetician.

Flo says...Vascular damage is always an indicator of collagen weakening or loss.

The capillary network sits on top of the collagen framework. When the collagen degrades, the capillaries lose their structural support, and through angiogenesis they create more capillaries so they can reach the epidermis to continue feeding it.

"Vascular damage is always an indicator the supporting connective tissue, collagen, has lost the ability to support the capillaries and venous network within the dermis. It is the earliest indicator we have to evaluate the strength of the collagen fibril and connective tissue of the dermis, or the potential for a skin type, such as diffused redness, to age prematurely."

Dear Nutritionists,
Let me debunk your myth that
parabens are toxic.

Parabens are NOT toxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic, or sensitizing to human beings. They are perfectly safe for use in cosmetics - this is supported by abundant data.

Parabens are organic antimicrobials naturally manufactured by fruits & vegetables to inhibit their own microbial issues.

Parabens are low cost preservatives, have a long-term safety profile, & have been successfully used for many years in many products for sensitive & allergy-prone skin.

In 2004, a study was published by British researcher Darbre who observed that substances "resembling" parabens were found in breast cancer tissue.

They did not study breast tissue from healthy women so had no control group. Samples were contaminated. There was a problem with their analytical method. The study was originally done because the authors wanted to find out if underarm deodorants increased breast cancer as most tumours are found in the upper breast area. Which in itself was strange as most deodorants are preserved with alcohol, not parabens.

They did not make any attempt to find out the source of the parabens in the breast tissue. We eat parabens every day naturally, & parabens are present in some medicines, so they would probably find we all have parabens present in our bodies.

Medical scientists have observed numerous scientific flaws in this study, including not citing whether the substances were found in "normal" breast tissue, nor providing any evidence that parabens caused the cancer.

The Darbre research team neglected to test the healthy, non-diseased tissue surrounding the tumors for the presence of parabens.

Why is it VERY important to note this research mistake? If controlled clinical testing had found the presence of parabens in both healthy AND diseased tissue, parabens could not be considered a possible trigger for the disease (cancer).

Environmental activist groups neglected to report this extremely important flaw in the study (on purpose) & chose to sensationalize only the information that suited their agenda.

They reported a cleverly worded half-truth, saying parabens were found in diseased tissue (fact) & were responsible for causing breast cancer (fiction).

Once this fabricated story snowballed into mass hysteria over parabens, the author of the study (Dr. Darbre) was compelled to officially refute what was being reported. "Nowhere in the manuscript was any claim made that the presence of parabens had caused the breast cancer…" ~DR. PHILIPPA DARBRE

There have been more than 65 studies by independent scientists showing that there are no adverse effects from exposure to parabens (at much higher doses than those found in cosmetics). The FDA has reveiwed 110 studies & confirmed that they are safe for use in cosmetics.

The FDA says parabens have much less estrogenic activity than the body's naturally occurring estrogen & has deemed parabens safe. With a 100 year track record of safety & efficacy, parabens are a much better choice than their alternatives, which have not been investigated to the same degree & which have not yet been proven.

Alternatives are methylisothiazolinone, a biocide/a pesticide. This alternative preservative ingredient is chemically similar to Agent Orange.

Carrots, olives, mangos, barley, peaches, strawberries, black currents, onions, & cucumbers all produce parabens NATURALLY!

I would be more concerned with soy tainting the food supply & fluoride tainting the water supply than I would be about parabens.

Ahhhh my first morning read…. A statement I’ve pretty much discussed every day of my career…. Soap vs. Cleanser as former EG students will remember 😉❤️….. anatomy and physiology never lies 🙌🏻

There are only 3 skin types: Oil Producing, Lipid Dry, Reactive.

The first thing to look for in skin analysis is oil production. Do they produce oil or not? If they do, how much oil do they produce? This will be the basis for many skin conditions you see, such as dehydration, inflammation, compromised barrier.

Skin either produces oil or it doesn't. If it does, there can be a wide range of oiliness in different people. Think of it like a sliding scale of oiliness.

Oil production begins on the nose & spreads out across the face. The nose is the oil production center of the face, this is why it often looks like it is filled with clogged pores. They aren't actually "clogged", they are producing sebum.

Look at the nose & notice how far down the sides & onto the cheeks they are shiny. Few people have oil that extends all the way to the ears, this explains why some people experience dryness in their cheeks. But you will be able to see the extent of their oil production.

Oily skin is mostly intrinsic/genetic.

However, hormone imbalances can cause excessive oiliness, as well as a diet that stimulates hormones such as too much fast food, processed food, grains, sugars, commercial dairy, food sensitivities, & lifestyle stressors.

Excessive cleansing & over exfoliation can also backfire & cause excessive oiliness as the skin tries to rebalance its protective acid mantle.

The same is true of harsh products that are overused in an effort to rid the skin of its natural oils. The skin will always try to balance itself, so if it is being stripped of its natural oils, it will overcompensate to make up for the deficiency.

Address these signs & symptoms by allowing the skin to balance itself. Stop using harsh cleansers & exfoliators. Stop over doing these treatments multiple times a day.

Look at cleaning up the diet & reducing lifestyle stresses. Be aware of the hormone imbalances that may be causing excessive oiliness & do what you can to create balance.
