my biggest lesson in entrepreneurship has also been my biggest lesson in life. it’s this:

exactly everything had to happen the exact way that it all did for you & for me to be here today.

even the most horrendous and most beautiful and most mundane and the most boring moments were a source for something good, something better, something new (the present).

this moment right now is another ripple into another future state that is totally unknown and inaccessible until we are there.

I spent many moments being naive and arrogant, thinking that I knew what the affects of my past decisions would be on my future states.

we are too serious with our present moments and present decisions, because we think we can control our futures — as if we could ever manufacture anything as potent as this, right now (the present).

and when things get tough, they have to be, but they will pass. for each and every moment is guiding you to something new, something better.

so if you are in a moment where you think you have it all figured out, enjoy it. if you are in a moment where the world is just showering you in goodness, soak that sh*t in. and if you are in a moment that is excruciating, know that it won’t last forever.

a wise man recently said to me: in life you can only ride one wave at a time. (SP).

wherever you are in your journey, I’m proud of you. I’m happy you exist. keep going. your many beautiful moments are still ahead of you.

lovingly,

Big, bold leaps will shake everything up, produce a MASSIVE hit of dopamine, and potentially have you repeating the same old patterns but in bigger (and even more covert) ways.

I’m not against big, bold leaps — the majority of my life has been big leap after leap, risk after risk. Big, physical moves. Marriage. Divorce. Mastering one discipline, jumping into another.

What I’ve found is that the most defining change and transformation has been in the subtle, the steady, the slow, the incremental.

(Many) Coaches don’t tell you this because (many) coaches define spending big money on support as ‘the leap’ that is required for big change and transformation. It’s the gateway leap to other leaps that you desire (like changing jobs, quitting all together, leaving your relationship, finding true love, travel, mastering a new skill, etc etc etc).

But after you do this a few times you realize that hiring someone is not the thing that will change you (or make you boatloads of money or help you quit your job). It’s doing the work yourself day in and day out.

And if you take any of these big leaps before you are ready, before you are willing and actually putting in the work day in and day our, you’ll find that you just keep repeating the same old cycles but in new environments, relationships, places, and even businesses.

No one can do your work, but you. Before you hire a coach, make sure you are actually ready and willing to be in your work and recognize that hiring a coach is the support for your future leap — it’s not the leap itself.

Because hiring a coach (or taking a huge leap) can change you — but only if you are working in the subtle to change yourself first.

I hope this makes sense. Comment below if you are vibing, if you need more clarity, or if you disagree.

All of you is welcome.

👀 btw marketing knows this about us and some marketers 100% play to this. 👀

this is why personal discernment is crucial. it’s what keeps us in our own (true) desire aka in our own work (and not in anyone else’s).

don’t chase someone else’s dreams, yall. they will always fall short.
