As a childcare owner and educator, I believe education is inherently political. It’s not just about academics, which, of course, are essential. I prioritize fostering good humans who know joy, kindness, and curiosity and enjoy learning. Education shapes not only what children learn but who they become, preparing them for life in a world that values freedom, respect, and understanding.
As a woman, LGBTQ, POC, and humanist, my very existence is political, and so is my work. Education isn’t neutral; it’s a powerful tool that impacts the future our children will inherit. Every day, I strive to create a space where each child feels seen, valued, and empowered to use their voice. I am here to support their choices and growth and to stand for a future where every person’s dignity, freedom, and happiness matter. These aren’t just abstract ideals. They are principles I live and breathe daily in my classroom, with every child and family I welcome into The Garden.
No matter the outcome of this election, my commitment remains. I will continue to challenge what needs changing, dismantle what no longer serves us, and help repair what has been broken. Supporting children’s right to be who they are, whether that’s in how they learn, who they love, or what they believe, is a revolutionary act. I’m honored to do this work, creating a foundation for a world celebrating each child’s unique potential and future.
In a world where values like inclusivity, autonomy, and kindness are challenged, teaching is a form of advocacy. I am here to support each child in becoming empowered, compassionate, and free to choose their path, and that’s a powerful statement about the kind of society I want for them and all of us.
I can’t tell you how lucky and honored I feel to work with families and educators who are on the same page. Together, we are raising a generation that knows they matter, that their voices are heard, and that their choices are respected. And that, to me, is the most meaningful kind of work there is.
