Sunrise Service Hours for Students

Join us next Saturday at the Fruitful Field to help create a Literacy Garden in support of Broward Reads for the Record. As part of our Parkland Hearts initiative, honoring the legacy of those we lost at MSD, this project brings our community together through service and compassion.

Volunteers will assist with painting, building garden features, and creating welcoming reading spaces for children and families. No experience needed—just a willingness to help and make a lasting impact!

Honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by turning service into action ✨ Join us for our MLK Day of Service at Rock Island Elementary in Fort Lauderdale. Volunteers will take part in meaningful, hands-on projects including painting a vibrant mural, creating outdoor hopscotch areas, building raised garden beds, and supporting an outdoor literacy garden. Together, we’ll help create a more engaging, welcoming, and functional learning environment for students, families, and staff—showing the true power of service and community collaboration.

Ann Storck Center is seeking 15 volunteers to help with daytime setup (1–5 PM) for their 30th Annual Celebrity Chefs—their biggest fundraiser of the year! Volunteers will assist with event setup tasks such as arranging tables, placing signage, chair covers, and preparing the auction area. Your support will help make this milestone celebration truly unforgettable! 🍽️✨

HandsOn South Florida’s service-learning summer program for teens is back for
Summer 2025! This is a program that will inspire, equip, and mobilize youth to take action that changes the world and themselves through service. HandsOn South Florida gives teens the opportunity to see firsthand the issues in their communities and the tools and resources they need to respond and become part of the solution.

As with our camp experience every year, students will earn 40 service hours upon completion of the week’s activities.

The Broward AWARE! Protecting our Children campaign, powered by the Children's Services Council, is an awareness campaign that uses the full spectrum of media to ensure that Broward County families, educators, media, law enforcement and all stakeholders use and share resources that make it possible for children to safely realize their full potential, hopes and dreams.

On Saturday, April 12th, during Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Family Fun & Resource Fair will feature family activities, workshops, performances, food giveaways, and much more. Lunch will be provided. Volunteers are needed to help run the event smoothly, setting up and breaking down, food distributions and participating in different tents.
