As they begin this journey, know that they are surrounded by caring teachers and staff who are committed to helping them learn, grow, explore, and thrive every single day.

This school year will be filled with new friendships, amazing discoveries, lots of laughter, and unforgettable learning experiences. We can’t wait to watch each child build confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning.

We also know that tomorrow can bring a mix of emotions for both children and parents. Please know that your child is safe, loved, and well cared for from the moment they walk through our doors until it’s time to go home.

🚨 COMMUNITY NOTICE / AVISO A LA COMUNIDAD 🚨

Santa Teresa High School will host a planned law enforcement training exercise conducted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Thursday, June 4, and Friday, June 5, 2026.

Community members may notice an increased law enforcement presence, emergency vehicles, and simulated emergency response activities on campus during the evening hours.

✅ This is only a training exercise.
✅ There is no emergency.
✅ There is no threat to students, staff, or the community.

Thank you for your understanding as we work with our public safety partners to support preparedness and campus safety.

The Gadsden Independent School District Board of Education has officially selected Nubia Tarazona as the district’s next Superintendent following a comprehensive search process that included community input, stakeholder engagement, and formal interviews with finalists.

Nubia Tarazona brings a strong background in educational leadership, with a demonstrated commitment to student achievement, equity, and community engagement. Nubia Tarazona has served as the Interim Superintendent of Gadsden ISD over the past several months, providing steady leadership and continuity during a critical period for the district.

“On behalf of the Board of Education, we are proud to welcome Nubia Tarazona to Gadsden ISD,” said Board President Christian Lira. “We are confident that this leadership will help guide our district forward and support the success of every student.”
