🎉Honoring Grand Marshal Coach Rollie DeLong 🎉

We are honored to recognize Coach Rollie DeLong as one of this year’s Big Walnut 4th of July Parade Grand Marshals—a name that resonates across generations of students, athletes, and families in our community.

If you went to Big Walnut or played sports here, you know the name Rollie DeLong—and you know his legacy is one that will live on forever.

Coach DeLong dedicated over two decades to shaping young lives at Big Walnut High School, both in the classroom and on the field:

🏫 Phys Ed Teacher (1980–2004)
🏈 Head Varsity Football Coach (1982–1992)
🏈 Assistant Football Coach (1995–2004)
🤼 Head Wrestling Coach (1981–1984)
👟 Track Coach (2000–2004)

Before his teaching and coaching career, Rollie played college football at Ashland University, where he helped lead the team to an undefeated season in 1972. He was later inducted into the Big Walnut Hall of Fame in 2007—a reflection of the profound impact he’s had on this community.

Married to his wife Karla for 44 years, Rollie is the proud father of five children—Tiffany, Geoff, Jennifer, Matt, and Sarah—and seven grandchildren who carry forward the pride and values he helped instill: Cayden, Jack, Ryan, Max, Sam, Olivia, and Brendan.

Coach DeLong’s influence reaches far beyond the field. He’s a symbol of strength, character, and Eagle pride—and we are beyond grateful to celebrate him as a true Big Walnut legend.

We are proud to recognize Jerry Rensi as one of this year’s Big Walnut 4th of July Parade Grand Marshals—a man whose dedication to education and leadership has left a lasting mark on generations of Big Walnut students.

Coach. Director. Principal. Advocate. Jerry’s service spans decades:
🏈 Head Football Coach (1979–1981)
🏅 Athletic Director (1979–1991)
🏫 Assistant Principal (1979–2001)

Even in retirement, he continues to serve through his involvement with the Big Walnut Education Foundation, where he remains a tireless advocate for students, staff, and the future of our schools.

We are deeply grateful for his commitment, leadership, and the immeasurable impact he’s had—and continues to have—on the Big Walnut community.
