What an incredible day of inspiration and community spirit at Nexton Elementary! We were absolutely thrilled to welcome the amazing Cane Bay High School JROTC for an unforgettable collaboration with our very own Nexton Elementary Color Guard.

Our 5th Grade Color Guard was captivated as the cadets demonstrated the honored traditions of precision flag folding, raising and lowering the flag, and so much more! Beyond sharing their impressive technical skills, these stellar high schoolers stepped up as fantastic mentors, showing our students what dedication, respect, and true leadership look like in action.

A massive THANK YOU to the Cane Bay High School JROTC for sharing your time, enthusiasm, and leadership with our school family! You’ve truly inspired our young leaders to reach new heights!

We are bursting with pride and excitement to share some incredible updates regarding our students' performance on the SCReady assessments!

Our returning students who scored "Meets" and "Exceeds" in both Reading and/or Math recently received a well-deserved sweet treat from the administration. Because these hardworking learners are "Blazing the Trail" toward academic excellence, their special reward was none other than delicious "Trail" Mix!

Why We Are Celebrating:
*Crushing Our Milestones: Our current proficiency sits at an amazing 72% for Meets and Exceeds across 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in ELA.

*The 2030 Vision: Our ambitious school-wide goal is to reach 75% proficiency in both ELA and Math for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders by the year 2030.

*Making History This Year: Thanks to our dedicated students, passionate teachers, and your unwavering support at home, the 2026–2027 school year WILL be the year we accomplish and surpass this goal!

"Together, we are keeping our students on the Right Trail to a bright, successful future. Thank you for partnering with us every step of the way!"

🎉 What a Night at Nexton Elementary! 🎉

A massive THANK YOU to all the fantastic families who packed the halls for our Open House last Thursday! The turnout was truly incredible, and the energy across our entire campus was inspiring! ⚡️

Here is a look back at an unforgettable evening:

📚 In the Classrooms
Our amazing teachers hosted dual classroom sessions, giving parents an inside look at all the incredible growth our students have already made this school year. Families also got an exciting preview of the upcoming curriculum, hands-on projects, and learning goals ahead.

📖 Read to Succeed Law Session
Over in the Multipurpose Room, Ms. Fulmer led an essential Read to Succeed informational meeting. She provided families with valuable insights into literacy laws and grade-level retention criteria, ensuring our school and families are fully aligned to build strong, confident readers!

We are so grateful for our dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and superstar students. Together, we are going to make this school year our best one yet!

Thank You, Once Again
