💙💛 Black River FFA was honored to host the District 3 Fall Ag Teacher and Officer Training!

Thank you to Ohio FFA State Vice President at Large, Grace Kackley for spending the evening with our district’s chapter officers and sharing valuable lessons on communication and leadership. Members also enjoyed connecting with fellow officers from across District 3!

We’re excited to see these student leaders take their new skills back to their home chapters and help make this a great year! 🌟

🌾 Largest Harvest — Giving Back! 💙💛

As part of our Largest Harvest celebration this year, our Ag classes added a canned food and personal care item drive to give back to our community. Together, our students donated over 175 items!

A big congratulations to our 1st Period Animal & Plant Science class for collecting the most items! 🎉👏

FFA President, Rylee Howard, deliver the donations to the residents of J.B. Firestone Estates in Spencer, where they were met with lots of smiles and gratitude.

🌲💙 Black River FFA Members Attend Greenhand Camp! 💛🌲

From September 27-29, five first-year members of the Black River FFA Chapter attended Ohio FFA Greenhand Camp at Camp Muskingum in Carroll County!

Members had the chance to build leadership skills, set goals for the year, and make new friends from across Ohio. They participated in activities like Adventure Valley, leadership field games, and workshops led by the Ohio FFA State Officer Team.

During free time, students enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, fishing, archery, basketball, and of course, the group favorite—9-square! 🛶🎯
We’re proud of our Greenhands for representing Black River FFA and can’t wait to see all they accomplish this year! 🌽💪

🔥🌶 Black River FFA’s Annual Chili Tailgate Night! 🌶🔥
On September 25, the Black River FFA Chapter hosted its annual Chili Tailgate Night during the homecoming football game against Keystone. Guests enjoyed a delicious hot chili dinner in exchange for a donation, with all proceeds supporting our members attending the Ohio and National FFA Conventions in addition to helping fund the many community service projects our chapter completes each year.
A huge thank you to Sandridge Food Corporation for donating the chili and Wendy’s of Burbank for providing the tableware! 🙌
We’re so grateful to everyone who stopped by, shared a meal, and supported our chapter. Your generosity helps make opportunities like these possible for our members. 💙💛

Black River FFA Officers Attend Medina County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting

Black River FFA officers Rylee Howard, Caleb Howard, sand Savannah Landrum recently attended the Medina County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting. Our chapter was recognized for participating in many of the Bureau’s yearly events and activities, and we are proud of the continued partnership we share with the Farm Bureau.

A special highlight of the evening was celebrating Black River FFA graduates and alumni members, Chloee and Peter Howard, who received academic scholarships from the Farm Bureau!

The night provided a wonderful opportunity for our members to network with local farmers, Farm Bureau state representatives, and county government officials while learning more about the impact of agriculture in our community.
