I can add learning to sew to my list of amazing “first time ever” experiences. It was challenging but my brain LOVED IT!!


Why Sewing? I want to do minor alterations and refashion some of my thrifted finds.

For years, I prayed for this stage of life. I prayed that my four children would be more independent and I would have more me-time. It’s here and I’m maximizing every moment.

Seriously?! Adulting right now can’t be the adulting I was rushing to. I’m having to overhaul my budget again. There are things I will have to pause, let go, or decrease to achieve other goals. These summer months with everyone home hits different.

This is us.
Our version of married life.
32 years together.
28 years married.
4 children.
As our children become more independent, we are redefining this stage of marriage. I am grateful we still enjoy the simple things together.

What was the plan?

No longer waiting.
I started.
I stepped out.
I stepped out…

—-of hurtful self-talk
—-of people’s opinions
—-of people’s expectations
—-of self-sabotage
—-of imposter syndrome
—-of procrastination
—-of waiting for people to give me table or a platform.

Time is not waiting. I am not waiting.
Nothing I’m doing is perfect.
This season is not pain-free.
I’m simply living my values, convictions, heart, & testimony.

Yeah, I’m not just saying it, I’m living it.

They have not made me wealthy.

And YET they are the most fulfilling things
I have ever done.

Because somewhere between the idea
and the finished thing in my hands,
I became who God said I was.

I did it afraid.
I did it imperfect.
I did it anyway.

And that is the thing nobody
talks about enough:

Obedience builds YOU.

The project does bless the audience. Period.
It also truly blesses the woman who dares to follow through.

It doesn’t matter if it reaches one or one million, you will never regret doing what God told you to do.
