Writing is a great way to share your ideas about any subject. I love writing competitions because it gives students support, a framework, and deadlines for their writing. If you don't place in the competition, you can reuse your writing and publish it elsewhere!

If you are interested in the John Locke Essay Competition this summer, the deadline is June 30. However, students must register by May 31st.

I’ve worked with students applying to competitive colleges for 14 years, and the only way to stand out is to shape your application around a compelling central theme. It’s what I call your personal narrative.

A really interesting study from authors at Stanford and OSU finds that those who double major in college have earnings that fluctuate less those with only one major. "Double majors seem to experience much more protection from market shocks."

A study finds that people who have two majors have more stable earnings.
