Here’s what the levy funds will cover:
🔹 High School roof repairs — $200,000
🔹 Parking lot resurfacing (JH & Kershaw) — $70,000
🔹 New lunchroom tables — $20,000
🔹 Lighting retrofits at SSEC & Central — $50,000
🔹 Classroom carpet replacements — $80,000
🔹 Copy machines (five-year cycle) — $40,000
🔹 Custodial & concrete repairs — $90,000

📘 Plus, updated textbooks and learning materials — $175,000 per year

Total: $450,000 per year for two years
The estimated average annual cost to the taxpayer on the proposed levy is a tax of $67.60 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value, per year, based on current conditions.

Our schools are growing, and we’re committed to keeping them safe, functional, and ready for learning. The upcoming school levy helps maintain essential facilities and classroom resources that keep Sugar-Salem strong.

Here’s what the levy funds will cover:

I am hoping that everyone had a wonderful break! In the spirit of the holidays, we want to invite you to an open house tour of our Junior High building. We are fully functioning, and would love to show you some of the fruits of everyone’s hard work! We will have the building open from 6-8 pm on
Wednesday and Thursday January 5th and 6th, 2022 of this week for anyone who would like to come and spend a few minutes with me and the board of trustees on a short tour.

Here are a few pictures of the new Jr High. The members of the Bond Committee were invited on a tour. It was very impressive and all the contractors have done a great job. Our students are very blessed to have a fantastic facilitiy to learn in.

The bond to build a new junior high passed with 78% of voters in favor! Voter turnout for this bond was impressive. Thank you to everyone who voted. We are excited to begin the process of building a new school to serve our students, with the goal to open the school in August of 2021. We are proud to be part of the Digger community!
